Mother's Day
I heard that Troma was none too pleased about this video. That kinda saddens me a little, since I love Troma and still maintain that "The Toxic Avenger" is one of the best and most inspiring films of the 1980s. "Mother's Day," though...I'm sorry, I genuinely do hate this movie. This review didn't require a whole lot of acting from me.

oh god i just came back from the refrigerator and "I am the wallfemaker" has got to be the funniest shit ever (my fucking key board only writes almost every other letter so there will be typos) and this movie.... was BAD

also this black guy later in the movei gets hit in the back of the head with a baseball bat while being possessed by the demon and since the body is unconscience the demon can no longer possess the body... well that would make sense if the earlier in the movie when the fucking 7 year old kid who was possessed by the deamon child got hit by the car would DIE and the deamon can no longer possess him but no.. the kid gets hit by a car going 40 miles an hour flips over the car and stands being possessed.... WELL WHAT THE FUCK?!?!?!

A remake? What the fuck? Just the imdb page pretty much has "fail" written in huge red lettering all over it. Darren Lynn Bousman is such a fucking tool! The sad thing is I have seen people try to defend his work, and call him "brilliant". During the promotion for "Repo: The Genetic Colostomy Bag" I remember seeing a clip of him at some type of horror awards show. He actually had the nerve to call Paris Hilton not only an "actress", but even a "great actress".
I seriously think Toxic Avenger was fucking awesome. I remember picking up a bootleg VHS at a garage sale back when I was no older then 11 or 12. Since the cover was a simple blank tape cover with "The Toxic Avenger" written in pen on it my parents didn't realize how inappropriate it was for a kid my age. That "kid on a bike scene" simply put, absolutely fucked me up. It seriously took me a few day to get over it and realize how silly my reaction was.

Hey, I just watched MOTHER'S DAY this evening! And just in time for its 30th Anniversary! This movie in my opinion has the perfect balance of humor and horror; after all, it is a Troma film directed by the brother of Troma's head Lloyd Kaufmann. I just don't know how a remake can even compare to the surreal mayhem of this one. Go Queenie, go!

i actually watched the entire movie beginning to end without realizing that that i could just watch the cinema snobs review to save me from that awful piece of shit. I did however watch the review almost immediately after and laughed my ass off, so at least some good came of it.

I think Warren Leight (of Law and Order: Criminal Intent fame and author of the play "Side Man") was a co-writer on Mother's Day. Not to make light of his family tragedies, but there seems to be a recurring theme of mothers in Leight's work.

This movie is reminding me of The Blood Shed, minus all the blatant references to John Waters reminding me of a considerably less sucky movie I could be watching. No movie that reminds me of The Blood Shed could possibly be any good, doubly so if it's from Troma, makers of Fat Guy Goes Nutzoid, a.k.a. the bane of my existence.
