I actually liked Juno. At least the characters were likable. Napoleon Dynamite was just headache inducing. Of course, as everyone is saying Catwoman was bad, yes, it was, although Halle Berry would have made a great Catwoman, had there been a better script, better direction, and better production values.

I admit if I saw Napolean Dynamite, I would've hated it too! One of the few films that I don't know what the fuss is all about.

The only other films from this decade that you left out was Gigli and Pluto Nash because those are the more infamous ones!

I'm sure the only Gus Van Sant directed film I saw was Milk with Sean Penn though I'm glad to avoid the "shot-for-shot" Psycho remake.

I guess 'Gerry' is for people who thought Andy Warhohl's 'Sleep' was a pulse-pounding, Michael Bayish, action film.
    My worst films list:
    'Battlefield Earth'
    Anything by Uwe Boll
The entire works of Seltzer and Friedberg
    'Delgo'
    'Norbert'
    'Gigli'
    'Catwoman'
'The Hottie And The Nottie' (and anything with Paris Hilton)
And my most hated...'Superbabies: Baby Geniuses 2'. This was director Bob Clark's last film before his tragic death. The man who gave us 'Porky's' and 'A Christmas Story' went out on this nuclear shitpile. Just sad.

    Oh, god. Blair Witch 2...

The creators of the first movie are actually considering creating a REAL sequel to the first movie by bringing back the original cast and rendering Book of Shadows non-canon. Let's hope they fix that monstrosity.

I would give a couple of "honorable" mentions to Freddy Got Fingered and Elektra.

As far as Uwe Boll movies go I try not to take them to seriously, I just kind of respect the fact that he is still making movies. The only movie ive seen of his I didn't like was In the Name of the King, but not cause it was really bad, Most sword and sorcery movies are bad, I just got bored and wanted to fall asleep. And as far as offensive humor for the sake of being offensive Postal was pretty funny. And seeing Bush and Obama argueing like a married couple was awesome. Im a fan of Uwe Boll the same way Im a fan of Ed Wood. I know they are bad but I think they get too much flack for it, like its so trendy to hate uwe boll movies

I totally agree about Gerry. I was watching elephant thinking "eh its gus van sant being all artsy, no harm done" and my dad walks in and starts watching it and blurts out "This reminds me of this fucking stupid movie Gerry I watched on netflix online" sure enough I watched this movie of dudes....walking...and walking....and getting on a rock and not knowing how to get down... and drinking water... and walking. But hey I liked Good Will Hunting and Finding Forrester

My group of friends have this thing for weird crap so cabin fever was all them but I could take it or leave it. Its one of those movies I forget and the only thing that makes me think of it is when I watch boy meets world and go "Hey! Shawn was in Cabin Fever"

Battlefield Earth, horrible movie but so fun to make fun of, and the Rifftrax is effing gold.

Great list Brad, that crosses out allot of "to see movies just out of curiosity" out of my list. I like about your list especially the last one because you didn't chose an easy target like Disaster Movie or Super Hero Movie or Catwoman or Battlefield Earth but you chose a movie that's trying to be pretentious and artsy and all you can say about it: "what's this amateur hour".

I really have an issue with movies that try to say how intelligent they are but fail at it miserably and find the excuse by saying you didn't get it. As I remember the Director for The Blair Witch Project 2 said the same thing when people bashed the movie, that we didn't get it or allot of studio executives changed his movie. Please, I don't even remember what that movie was about. A really big disappointment and a bigger disappointment is when a director tries to be smart.

I agree with your list (for the ones at least that Ive seen). Of course my 10 worst list is different but thats a matter of perspective really.

House of the dead was one Uwe Boll movie I liked cus it was so bad its funny. Thats probably the best one for that that hes done (imo).
Napolean Dynamite, ya I watched it on tv once to see what all the fuss was about. I dont get it either. I will say though, I thought his brother was hilarious. If the movie was about his brother id have liked it more. Napolean Dynamite himself I just found annoying.
So many bad movies this decade, surprised you were able to come up with a worst list to be honest. Thats pretty hard, there was so many bad movies I rarely see a movie come out that I want to see anymore.
Anyway, enough of my rambling. I like your list, im sure even the ones I havent seen are bad. A couple I want to see just so I can hear the rifftrax for 'em though.

I can't say I have a "worst movie" of the decade but I can name off some kinds of movies that I wish I never saw and I plan to avoid until the end of time.

    So here it goes....

Movies starring Paris Hilton, Alec Baldwin, Meryl Streep, Jon Heder, Eddie Murphy, Jake Gyllenhal, Lindsay Lohan & Megan Fox.

Any movie with a political message.

Any movie starring a pop singer, rap singer, country singer and/or American Idol reject.

Any movie starring a current/fornmer WWE wrestler.

Any of the post-American Pie films that has nothing to do with the original cast with the exception that it has Eugene Levy in it. (by the way this same rule goes for any of the hundreds of movies released since "American Wedding" with the word "american" in it.

Any movie made by a studio that wants to charge me more than $10 fucking dollars for a bare-bones DVD. I'm sorry, but if I just paid damn near that much for a ticket to see the movie in theaters their is no fucking reason why the dvd shouldn't be loaded up with some documentaries, commentaries and a few trailers. This also goes for these assholes who make a dvd of a movie and call it a "special edition" when just a mere 6 months before I saw the same thing that I'm being charged $15 bucks for now and their is nothing more special about it now than their was 6 months ago.

    and lastly....

Any movies with the words "Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn" in the title.

    Hello Brad.

    Long time viewer here.
I have to say I was a little disappointed with your list. Granted, a lot of these movies were bad but there were more than a handful that were hardly the "worst" as you deem it.

I will give you Blair Witch 2 because, yes, it was a film that betrayed what fans wanted (where I did, but then again, I hated the original) so any hate towards it is understood.

    But really, Wrong Turn?
You think that's one of THE WORST? And the only reason you gave was because you found the inbred killers unitentionally hilarious in a way? I'm sorry but this seems like a cheap reason to throw it on this list. If that's your only listed reason, then you'd have a FIELD DAY with Wrong Turn 2 which had in an obnoxious degree on top of forced black humor, ridiculous & impossible kills (like bisecting someone in two with in ax in one shot, making it a clean cut where only intestines fall out and then the body jiggles like its lost all its bones), forced and unneeded character exposition, the list goes on and on. I just can't buy that you'd find Wrong Turn one of the worst. Cabin Fever, yes. But Wrong Turn? I'm sorry but I need more reason as what you gave was a weak explanation.

Also, Napoleon Dynamite is an annoying character which can definitely kill the movie for someone real quick. But was it really one of the worst? I've seen far more painful "comedies" than that this decade.

I'm surprised Boondock Saints didn't make the list since you absolutely loathe it. Heck, I'm surprised you didn't even give honorable mention to The Mother Of Tears over a lot of what you listed.

I don't know. I'll respect your opinion but I found the execution of this countdown rather wishy washy. Could have used more tweaking, constructing and better explanations for the films you did end up picking.

Beyond that, like seeing you at your craft and hope to see more in the future.

When I said "Where I did," I meant I personally liked BW2 but then again, I hated the original and I find that a lot of people who liked the original hate the sequel and a lot who hated the original liked the sequel. But then sometimes you do meet some rarities who liked both.

Worst movies I've seen this year in no particular Order:

-- Infection (aka Invasion on DVD) - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0472465/
2005 film from Albert Pyun. YOu might recognize the name if you're a fan of bad movies, as this guy directed one of the all-time classics: Captain America. Infection is so much fucking worse. This movie has to be the current nadir of his career, and with something as awful as Captain America in your resume, that's saying a fucking lot.

-- Transformers 2 - obvious. I'm almost ashamed to have even watched it.

Actually, to hell with this. I can name off a couple dozen movies that probably no one here has even heard of, like RetroGrade, Organizm, Way of War (wtf happened to Cuba Gooding Jr?) and tons of others.

If you want to talk about overrated movies, tho, how about some of these:

District 9 - This isn't really a bad movie at all, but I was so extremely pissed off when I left the theater that I've been writing a sequel in my spare time that is an attempt on my part to live up to the huge potential of that idea. I probably had steam coming out of my ears on my way out to my car, that's how pissed off I was.

Wall-E - I love animation, and I love Pixar, but this was another movie that had me pissed off by the time I left. Another great concept that the writer - oddly - decided to neuter in a number of ways. They had a really great little metaphor going between Wall-E and earth, and then they totally jettisoned it into deep space by trying to crowbar a villain and all that crap. Could have been a really great, adult, reflection on the frailty of life and love, and they turned it into a 'save the world' adventure flick. I hate it when really great concepts amount to nothing but popcorn flicks on screen. The ending was way too happy. I think the secret to really great endings for family films died with Disney.

Tell No One - People describe it as an incredible suspence film, but I only watched the first half hour or so and NOTHING HAPPENED AT ALL. Nothing. I love slowly paced movies, too. This movie is beyond slow. It's sap oozing from a tree in winter slow.

    Underrated/ Underknown Movies:

-The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.
    -Moon.
-City of God (jesus, that movie was fucking intense)
-Erin Brockovich (one of those movies that was big for a year and then was totally forgotten by everyone.)
    -Shadow of the Vampire
-Twilight Samurai (fucking great, but requires patience. It's pretty slow, but definitely deserves a spot on any 'best of the decade' list)
    -Finding Neverland
-He Was A Quiet Man (quirky and awkward at times, but prety damn good)

I guess that's it for now...

Well, that's actually a good list imo (I wouldn't put AITD on it, as I love Boll, but w/e). Good to see an Emmerich film near the top of the list, that man is awful.

Brad, I am surprised to see no Boondock Saints 2 (to all the people asking about 1, it came out in 1999), but I thought it was okay, so whatever.

Good choice for Gerry being #1, it might just deserve it.

I'd probably slide Paranormal Activity into the list, maybe not Worst 10, but certainly Worst 20.

Norbit. Fucking Norbit. I hate Eddie Murphy, and this is the worst of a lot. Really, the top 20 list could be JUST Murphy films.

Nick and Nora's Infinite Playlist. Really, any film with Cera in it. I don't see why he is so often compared to Eisenberg, Eisenberg is a good actor, and Cera is dogshit.

FearDotCom - It is not often I truly hate a horror film (Paranormal Activity being an example on an exception), but this one is too shitty for even me to justify it by saying "Well, it's a horror movie, so it's automatically at least okay."

Napoleon Dynamite - FUCK FUCKF FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK. You know something? Even if I did know someone like this FUCKER FUCKING FUCK in high school, and even if "high school is dumb and unfunny, and so is the movie" that's not FUCKER FUCKING FUCK excuse to make a FUCKER FUCKING FUCK movie that's so FUCKER FUCKING FUCK boring, dumb and unfunny. Maybe if your high school life was so full of FUCKING ASSHATS like Napoleon Dynamite, and was honsetly that FUCKING retarded and unfunny, don't make a MOTHERFUCKNG MOVIE ABOUT IT. Personally, I didnt find high school to be at all like this movie. But, maybe, if your highschool days were like Napoleon's MAKE A FUCKING MOVIE ABOUT SOMETHING ELSE. WHO THE FUCK THOUGHT THIS WAS A GOOD MOVIE. FUCKER FUCKING FUCK!! MOTHERFUCKER MOTHERFUCKING MOTHERFUCK!! FUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You know, maybe that piece of shit tops my worst of the decade list, if not all time.

As for Battlefield Earth, I dont know. It's in the "so bad it's good" category, for me at least, so I don't think I can justify classifiyng it with these "so bad it's horrible"/"worst of the ___" movies.

      Boat Trip. Just a failure.

American Pie Presents (Naked Mile/Book of Love). 2 and Wedding and even Band Camp had a mordicum of decency to them. And Beta House (between NM and BoM) was as bad as those two, but made up for it with almots constant titties. And for me, that's something, and eleveates it above its precedssor and sucessor.

Frat Party - A complete failure at trying to enter the teen comedy genre. Far too many movies are like that, but Frat Party fucks it up even worse.

      The Love Guru - shit.

Overall worst - I would have said Norbit a while ago, but then you reminded me about Napoleon FUCKER FUCKIGN FUCK Dynamite.

      I dunno.

Flesh Freaks: Horror movie made by high-school or college students. Boring as hell (not that hell would really be boring; it's just a figure of speech).

Shut Up And Shoot: Lame satire on Hollywood.

Hard Candy: This is just what we need, a lobotomized version of 'Death And The Madien.'

Sexual Parasite: The Killer Pussy: See 'Teeth' instead.

Final Examination: Not even Debbie Rochon could save this one.

Half Past Dead: The title describes the movie pretty well.

Against The Darkness: Steven Seagal fights zombies. How the hell did they manage to fuck-up such a great premise?

The "Comedies" of Seltzer and Friedberg: There like the Zucker Brothers, only with sever brain damage.

Firestarter 2: Rekindled: One of the worst sequels ever made!

Human Prok Chop: Words can not describe how much I hated this movie.

Wolf Creek: I liked the cinematoraphy, but that was about it.

Gojoe: Spirit War Chronicle: This SHOULD go without saying, but if your going to make a movie that contains sword fights, MAKE SURE THAT THE ACTION IS ACTUALLY COMPREHENSIBLE!

Art Of The Devil 1&2: ARRRGGHHHH!

The Tuxedo: Chan looks about as thrilled staring in this movie as we were watching it.

Saw: I didn't like all the speed up footage during the intense scenes. Made me feel like I was watching a Benny Hill sketch.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: LOUDER DOES NOT MEAN SCARIER!

    Hellraiser: Hellseeker: Gag.

Kill Bill Vol. 1: Yes, yes, I know; Tarantino made it, therefore it's the best movie ever in existence. But it just kept reminding me of other movies that I would rather have been watching. I did kinda like Vol. 2 though.

Open Water: If I ever say anything nice about this movie, I hope someone shoots me.

50 First Dates: I have nothing against Adam Sandler (he can be funny in small doses), but this movie board me.

Sightings: The Heartland Ghost: I became an atheist shortly after watching this movie (coicidence?)

Dodgeball: A Ture Underdog Story: I just didn't find it funny.

    Flight Of Fury: Ugh.

The President's Man: A Line In The Sand: A dull sequel to an ok tv-movie.

I Spit On Your Corpse, I Piss On Your Grave: I'm willing to bet that I hated this more than Brad hated 'Cabin Fever.'

Bloody Murder: I don't know what those characters were so afriad of; I mean, if the're in this movie than they must already be dead.

The Wicker Man: One of the worst remakes I have ever had the misfortune of seeing. After seeing Nicolas Cage's performace, I'm starting to see why Josie Cotton turned him down (no offense Nick).

Nightmare: Korean knock-off of 'The Ring.'

The Ring: I have not yet seen the Japanese movie, but I did read Koji Suzuki's novel and this movie is almost nothing like it. Example: The novel was good.

Evil Alien Conquerors: A live-action 'Invader Zim,' without the laughs.

    More to come...

Nic Cage isn't a bad actor. Wicker Man was a horrible remake of a horrible original directed by a horrible director from a horrible script. I honestly can't figure out why Cage even did it.

Most films where there is shitty acting (let's be honest, as bad as Cage was in that flick, he was far from the worst in it) is usually the fault of the director not knowing what he wants. The scenes aren't shot in order and often use multiple takes from one shot to the next. Getting it right is actually pretty hard, and as an actor, it's really really useful if your director knows exactly what he wants out of you. Being an film actor is being able to bring a unique life to a character. The emotion, pacing, delivery of lines, etc is all malleable, and a good director will fine-tune that with the actor so the performance can reflect what the director wants the film to achieve. The fact that Cage has been in so many shitty films lately has less to do with him and more to do with the fact that the directors of all these bad movies generally don't have much experience.

SInce National Treasure he's been involved with more and more crap movies, but look who's directing them. The Pang Bros aren't bad, but I don't think they were used to having a budget like that. Mark Johnson (ghost rider) has pretty much made nothing but shit his entire career. LaBute, who had made nothing but comedies / dramadies was responsible for Wicker man. Turtletaub (National Treasure) had previously made mostly crap and Phenomenon, which wasn't all that bad. Tamahori, who started out making decent flicks obviously lost his edge by the time he got to Die Another Day, and only kept getting worse from there. Sad, really. I liked his noir-ish early stuff.

YOu can't fault Cage for Knowing. That movie should have been great. It was decent, tho. Gone in 60 Seconds wasn't totally awful, either. His only really bad movies were Ghost Rider, Wicker Man, Next and Bangcock Dangerous. The rest were somewhat mediocre and several have been great. Lord of War, the new Bad Leiutenant flick... hell, up until 2000 he was in pretty much nothing but good shit, with a few kinda crap flicks here and there.

SO yeah, I don't get why everyone has such a raging hate for Cage. I've always considered him one of my favorite actors. Seeing him in so many mediocre flicks lately is a shame, but none of that is due to his acting. In my opinion, he's often the only redeeming thing about the shitty movies he's in.

    End of rant.

I vividly remember my Mom and I rented it when I was about 13, and, when it was over, we just stared at each other in stunned silence for about 5 minutes, trying in vain to comprehend what we had just watched. Finally, we were both just like "what in the Holy Mother of God did we just watch!" I'm now 23 and I be hard pressed to think of another movie I've seen since that, in my opinion, was worse.

    3. New Moon (Ugh, Bella's certainly one of the most unlikable characters ever put into literature... and this is coming from a guy who isn't much of a reader.)

    4. Anything by Seltzer and Friedberg (The only movie from them that I've seen the whole way through was Date Movie)

Instead of the social commentary mixed with trippy imagery and classical music, it turns into the WWE. If that isn't enough, Paul Heyman and Slipknot make appearances. Considering the fact that this is from the director of Die Hard 1 and 3, there's no excuse. I should also mention that Chris Klein should never act in movies.

And i can't quite understand your hate on "Jerry". I think nothing symbolizes anything in that movie. Maybe i am too stupid, but to me it was simply a "man against nature" movie that reminded me of movies and books from my childhood about guys who get stranded somewhere and have to fight for their life. I'm not saying it is a great movie, but i also don't understand why you have such a problem with the premise.
