I have never heard of that version of "Takeoishi" before. I've only heard the solo version. Also, I'm so excited about the showdown. I too, never get away with the "I'm Chinese" excuse.

Racist. Even if Japan isn't your first language, your second language, or any other language, you should still be able to pick up on all the accents and idiosyncrasies of every single anime performer. Thinking that people who use a language you do not fully understand sound similar... that's just sickening.

Brilliant. It's just the deadpan way Ted says lines like:
"He may try to rip your heart out to please Kali-Ma"
    That has me laughing hysterically.

this is what I found. Ninja were Japanese. BUT the art of Ninjutsu goes way back in history and much of the technique came from China. Many people seem to think that the Ninja sword techniques are the same as those used by the samurai. That is not true. The sword techniques done by the ninja are much different having come from Chinese sword techniques rather than Japanese. All that one handed "figure eight" spinning of the sword is not from Samurai sword styles.

Considering how much of Japanese culture is influenced/derived from China, you're starting down a road with no end here.

But there's no need to prove that ninjas are Japanese in order to vindicate Ted because, in Ninja Death, the ninjas are Japanese, fresh from Japan. In fact the entire action of the movie is driven by the Ninjas being freaked out at having Chinese orphans trained as ninjas. They hate it because it should be Japan exclusive. Tiger even refuses at first to be trained as a ninja *because* he is Chinese. So Ted is correct to refer to ninjas as Japanese, because in the movie that's exactly true.
