Previously featured on YouTube before ultimately being ousted by the powers that be (those powers being the people behind "Nail Gun Massacre") thecinemasnob.com will
feature all of the Snob's videos, old and new, and also brand new shows and full length original movies for those of us who already can't get enough of Z-Grade Cinema.
Phelous checks out that other "Troll 3"! The Troll 3 whose theme my cat seems to have grown a fond attachment to. Keep your eyes peeled, because there's more cameos here than just the goblins!!

Since it's lost among a lot of hate around here I'd might as well make it clear. I think honestly the reason people are bitching about this is because the crossovers on TGWTG are overdone and not really as funny as they are and can really take away from the review. And I do agree they come off as more as self serving circle jerks but I've got to remember they are all friends with each other. Another problem I have is that all the crossovers all involve the same "I can outdo what you do, no you can't" thing that's been going on since the NC/AVGN thing and you know what it's not fun anymore. Crossovers are fine if done rarely and not every video like with Nostalgia Critic, don't get me wrong he is still funny but every single video he does has had a crossover in it and it's quite frankly boring. I watch The Cinema Snob because he didn't do that...that was until he teamed up with Ed Glasiser but for the most part he's managed to not let crossovers take over his videos.
I can understand a lot of complaints here because these people do all this entertainment for free and spend a lot of time on it, but let's be honest why is critisim a bad thing. You can't expect every person who does this sort of thing to be praised non stop and never be called bad or anything because that is simply not possible. Every reviewer has their bad moments and it's something that just can't be helped and if we think it's bad then we have the right to call it out for that. Though I would argue that would only work the critisim was constructive and not flamebait.
Overall I hope I've made a point here, I mean I enjoy The Cinema Snob but I just don't want to see him degenerate into a crossover fest, making money is one thing but it's nessessary in order to keep the videos and the site going which is fine and all but it's another to just rely on something that really only works in small doses and I don't hate the reviewers, hell if I was one I'd love to do a crossover myself but I'm no reviewer so maybe I'm not the right person to comment on this but I had to say something to make sense of the madness going on the comments...anyway that's all I've got to say Reply to this

No, it wasn't. The award was simply the last straw, these issues have been simmering since at least the crossover with Sean Fausz, if not earlier.
And even if it had been an insular incident, that doesn't devalue what he says. The Internet doesn't need more places filled with trolling /b/tards, especially when this kind of behavior not only keeps new people from joining the community but also will give Brad himself a bad rep sooner or later.
As for crossovers: yeah, overdoing them isn't good - as is overdoing pretty much anything. But hey, this is Brads first real crossover (I'm not counting guest stars at the Bruno Mattei show) and lasted what, less then a minute? This is hardly symptomatic for overdoing cameos, especially since both Brad and Phelous are working the same field, have a surprisingly good dynamic and a cameo really was inevitable after the little fanboy clash with the Troll review.
And if anything, these little cameos will point you to neat stuff other people have made. I would've never stumbled upon Brads videos without his guest appearance at TSE. Brad isn't going to make less videos if you dare to enjoy other peoples work and every new source of entertainment is a few minutes of boredom shaved off from the week. Reply to this

Looks like the trolls lose according to that like-dislike graph up there. -I do like Phelous and his crazy way of reviewing movies, but this review was pretty boring. Phelous wasn't zany or frustrated, and not even his Canadian pronunciation of "aboot" could make me laugh. In the end, it really felt like a commercial for The Cinema Snob, which is probably why I nearly clapped my hands when Brad showed up. Good for getting him some exposure, but bad for comedy. --The ending was the only good bit. Phelous acted like Phelous and not a mild version of The Cinema Snob (as apposed to the rest of the review), and we got to see The CS join the ranks of those who've killed Phelous! Overall, if they were to do something like this again, Phelous better be f@#king awkward and angry like always. I love it when the guy's nutty.
Oh, and before this goes on for too long (too late, huh?), I think Phelous is the ONLY one who could crossovers great with The Cinema Snob. Both review bad horror movies and both break the fourth wall (as in, "I was going to do this bad sketch, but..."). Linkara is only with comics (hard to crossover), Angry Joe is a commercial whore, SpoonyOne (maybe? he's mainly with videogames, though), and I doubt NC could sit eye level with another character as evil/dominating as the Cinema Snob. It'd turn into a horrible "bigger c#ck" contest, like with the AVGN. *shudders* Reply to this

All the reviewers on TGWTG have their own little groups they do crossovers with. For instance, Nostalgia Critic could easily have a cameo from Spoony or Linkara, but you'll probably never see Bennett the Sage. This has to do with their status as reviewers, their subject matter of choice, and how well the styles work together.
So honestly, I wouldn't worry to much about him doing a bunch of crossovers. I mean, the crossovers with Phelous and Ed Glaser just make sense. He does exploitation and horror reviews, he is a more realistic reviewer (as opposed to the idealism of someone like AVGN), and his style works with theirs.
As for future reviews, I can maybe see him doing work with Dena Natali or Spoony, but someone like Angry Joe or Film Brain would just be out of the question. Not because those last two are bad reviewers, but because they cover entirely different areas, and they wouldn't be able to play off each other without it feeling forced.

Similarly, TGWTG members from different media have crossovers all the time. Such as when Angry Joe, Goggles, and Spoony appeared in Paw's Top 9 music video.
The only thing that decreases likelihood of cameos seems to be affiliation, your far less likely to see Guru Larry and Wez or Ashen in other videos (other than each others) due to their affiliation with Screw Attack. Another example being Little Miss Gamer from PBC productions, or JesuOtaku from the DesuBrigade. Reply to this

Ah, it has begun. Cinema Snob's fanbase has already begun to turn into a bunch of hateful, pathetic, whiny, insulting, disrespectful, elitist, little douchebags who bitch and whine about OTHER reviewers just to see themselves type viciously, uncalled for stupidity.
Wonderful.
You people should be absolutely ashamed of the pathetic way you are acting.

That's a little overdramatic. I can't speak for anybody else, but this was the first time I saw this other guy, and I thought he was terrible. No hidden motives. I don't get off on negativity, or something. I just couldn't make it more than three minutes before I wanted to turn it off, and started fast forwarding looking for Brad. How totally pathetic of me.

It was quite funny, I watched his other Troll reviews after this one.
Now I know of another reviewer I should check out some more.

P.S: The trolls in these movies pale in comparison to the trolls in these comments.
ColinJ, Matt Johnson, Jason, and Dr. Klahn... You are, in every way, the miserable type of self-stereotypes of trolling internet douchebags that always infest communities and turn them into garbage.
Thank you for bringing your unnecessary, ignorant, childish, and incredibly pathetic, hateful elitism where it isn't needed, isn't appreciated, and has no basis in anything, other than your own self-serving, smarmy, douchebaggy bullshit.
Fuck you all.

Meh.. Not a fan of Phelous. His character comes across forced.
He has a good eye for using movie samples though.

Overall I hope I've made a point here, I mean I enjoy The Cinema Snob but I just don't want to see him degenerate into a crossover fest, making money is one thing but it's nessessary in order to keep the videos and the site going which is fine and all but it's another to just rely on something that really only works in small doses and I don't hate the reviewers, hell if I was one I'd love to do a crossover myself but I'm no reviewer so maybe I'm not the right person to comment on this but I had to say something to make sense of the madness going on the comments...anyway that's all I've got to say

Criticism is fine, but insulting a reviewer is just uncalled for. No one *forced* you to watch this video. Saying that there's not enough Cinema Snob in a PHELOUS review is just dumb. I know no one said that, but.....why is everyone bitching about the Cinema Snob crossing over into another person's review. What's so wrong with Brad agreeing to show up in another person's review? I think they add to the review, and c'mon, if Phelous *hadn't* done it, you all would've said "Phelous SUX! He's TOTALLY riping the CS Offf!!!!1111111!!!!" So why don't we keep our nasty comments to ourselves, and keep the criticism to something constructive, okay?

I'd like to think that after this article was published, there wouldn't be any of this crap again. What the hell do I know, eh?
Seriously, it's just a video. If you don't like it, don't watch it. (I know it's been said before, but it needs to be repeated.) Commenting on how you want to kill Phelous is unnecessary. (And a little sick...)

Guys seriously, relax. You know how often I still work to get new material on the site, in fact there will be a new Snob video posted tonight. But I have fun doing crossovers, and I love my all my new friends at tgwtg. So mixed in with all of the original material on the site, there may be a crossover here and there. It's ok to be upset, but please ease up on the extreme hate. You know I love you all, and I wouldn't be here without all of you =)

I don't hate you Brad just to make it clear, I'd say you've inspired me to check out the type of movies you have watched. And I will admit the crossovers kinda bother me because it makes me want to be part of TGWTG but apart from that I respect what you do...but I kinda get the impression that you didn't expect this response...and in regards to The Spoony One link...that was more over the spamming of the video where he celebrated his win of that Funniest Person To Follow award
Reply to this
No, it wasn't.

That was awesome! I love how your now flaunting your superiority, it truly does fit the character. I hope Phelous invades a Snob video next.

Now, I will disagree with this last sentence. I love Phelous with his eccentric, over-the-top style. And I love the Snob, with his smug attitude. And this crossover was great, it was very funny and due.
However, let's not overdo it too quickly. As fun as crossovers are, they can wear thin and they tend to have already done at certain points. That's not to say I dislike them, but I do think there should be more straight reviews with no crossovers. Butmaybe that's just me.
Anyway, great cameo, man. I love the smarmy way you plug your video, it made me crack up.

I guess I might be in the minority here, but I kinda owe most of this to James Rolfe. If he hadn't done crossovers with Doug Walker, I wouldn't have thought to check out TGWTG. In turn, I would have never thought to check out Spoony's site without TGWTG, which wound up causing me to discover the Snob videos through Spoony's site. Crossovers basically lead me here, so I say more power to them!
Reply to this
No, I have the exact same story as you.
I was going through James's video archives and came across the NC 'feud' videos, which led me there and then finally down the line to here.
Sure, crossovers can get annoying when they are over done to the point where they're in almost every video. What I find astounding, is Brad did ONE (1) so far, and people are acting like he murdered their pets or something.
Everyone just needs to chill.

R.I.P Phelous. You will be dearly missed.
Reply to this
You two aren't alone. I actualy starting watching Doug's stuff first, which lead me to the AVGN from the "feud",then Spoony because he posted an introduction vid on TGWTG, which then lead me to Linkara from his Neutro video on Spoony's site, then I found Phelous from one of his Troll reviews, then the Cinema Snob from his ET:The Porno review, then lastly I found out about Angry Joe. So yeah, I like how these guys have crossovers and introduce new reviewers,I really have to thank the TGWTG site for leading me to all these guys, they make days so much better. And Brad, you've become one of my favorites, your hilarious man. And to all you fanboys,"Nobody wants a war",it's ok to share your opinion if you dislike someone, but don't just plain insult the person, that's just childish and rude. Just give some advice on what they can do to make it more enjoyable, simple as that.

*shudders*

Not because those last two are bad reviewers, but because they cover entirely different areas, and they wouldn't be able to play off each other without it feeling forced.
...
Well OK, I guess a Film Brain video featuring a pretentious snob isn't hard to imagine, but still.

You do have a point but aren't completely right. Bennett the Sage had a recent cameo in a Ask That Guy sketch, and it was one of my favourites.

Shit has hit the fan! I loved this review, what with Brad and Phelous being two of my favorite reviewers and all, but people are going to go bat shit insane over this. Happened with Spoony, and it's happening with Brad.

C'mon guys... The Snob has given us 84 awesome reviews. It's time we gotta let him try new things. Now being a producer for TGWTG, there's just so many interesting possibilities for him to try out (crossovers, guest reviewing, etc). It's like being invited to the cool kid's house to play with his cool new toys. I say let Brad play!!!
Reply to this
I say Amen to that. Brad's got a real gift in how he knows his stuff. Yes the other reviewers know their stuff as well but goddamn Brad's like an encyclopedia with what he knows in his genre and that's pretty much why I watch his videos.
Having Brad as part of the team is a really good opportunity to share this talent. And it doesn't even have to be direct input, it could be just a helping role or like you said, guest reviewing.

lol, great cameo! lol, Phelous is interesting, although not as good as you. But the Troll 4 bit was the funniest part.

Brad and Phelous are the updates on TGWTG I anticipate the most. You both have great senses of humor and wit, albeit different in style and approach.
People don't have to like Phelous or his reviews, but it's not up to you to decide who Brad works with. Name-calling does nothing but display your lack of intelligence and manners. Get the fuck over yourselves.
Keep up the great work guys, both of you.

Whatever all the phelous haters say, i think there just HAD to be a cross-over between those two at one point ! I mean, both their of the infamous troll saga are on the same website, they can't just ignore each others, just like i'm sure Brad will eventually show up with spoony, at least because of their link with Bruno Mattei ! Also, whether you like it or not, Brad is now part of Tgwtg and little cameos and cross overs are things people really like over there !

I was very happy to see this review. I very much enjoy both the Phelous and Cinema Snob personas, as well as many, many other reviewers. These two in particular I reviled in seeing together, what with the common subject matter of their reviews.
I don't really understand what all the viciousness is about though. If you really don't find Phelous funny, power to you, but lots of us do, so lets have some respect for other people's tastes. I find it so very bothersome how people (especially on the internet) hold no reservations in not respecting other people's opinions and preferences. Your all entitled to your opinions so stop bickering and enjoy your free entertainment.

Never heard of Phelous before. I didn't care for this review. In fact, I thought it was really bad. But since I'm not a douchebag, I decided to reserve judgment until I went over to TGWTG and checked out some of his other reviews. Know what? They were pretty damn funny.
Bookmarked!
Plus, I wanna play with all his toys.
