Public Domain Theater: "Devil Times Five"
Time for another public domain theater! You know what that means. I'm gonna be out of town for a few days. Sorry I couldn't film an intro for this movie, I'm very busy packing even as I type this. Seriously, I'm typing with one hand and sorting my button up black shirts and 80s ties with the other.
What I have for you is "Devil Times Five." Haven't seen it? Well you should! Imagine "The Little Rascals" crossed with "Friday the 13th." Now imagine that instead of Stymie, it's Lief Garrett. And instead of wearing suspenders and 1930's gear he wears a dress. You're watching the movie right now, aren't you? Keep in mind, this movie is very flawed. It's got a ridiculous slow motion attack scene that stretches itself out to about 5 minutes, but it's got enough camp in there to be entertaining. The odd toy soldier type music they lay when the killer kids are on screen is kind of a hoot. Plus Lief screaming "my face, my beautiful face!"
Something tells me I'll have to snob this one in the near future. Enjoy!!

Glorious movie! Yes, it does have some flaws, but it feel so refreshing to finally see a real horror movie. Compared to these lame remake pg 13 that keep coming out. The slow montion scene were really useless, but except that, the kills and the disturbing facts that kids could plan all that stuff is really well done. Thancks a lot for this movie.
And its sure will be funny to see the snob do this one.

Oh yes, glad to see you highlight this little gem! I only saw this one quite recently, not knowing anything about it from the beginning and boy... This is such a satisfying, entertaining... and in the end, a rather horrifying film! The last minutes worked as well as any well made, hopeless zombie-flooding situation. Truly more grim and dark than I had expected. Any fan of 70s horror should check this delightful piece of sleaze.

Only Exception: The kid in that Twilight Zone movie. But still...

That was kinda...entertaining. I watched it with a friend of mine and I have to say its one of the better Public Domain movies (Which doesnt mean that its a good movie).
I really liked the small black kid who behaved like a Commando all the time. And only the laid back couple notices that there might be something wrong with the kids.
I was actually sad for the mentally handicapped guy that got killed off. Of all the people in the house he deserved it the least.

Here's a few thoughts after just watching this:
1. The opening credits are way too long.
2. That announcement about the weather didn't need to be there at all. Why couldn't they just shoot everything in snow settings instead of have an announcement in the opening about how it's going to be warm during the day and snowing at night. They could have said "Hey, snow storm [end]".
3. Was I the only one that was confused about what the hell the relationship between all of the adults? I understood a bit of it, but that was only later in the movie.
It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be.
By the way, I've always wanted to know; How do movies like this get put into Public Domain status anyways? I always thought that in order to have a work put into Public Domain automatically required the author having been deceased for more than fifty years.

Yes, this should definitely be Snobbed. It's shameless "killerkidsploitation" - note that the movie offers no motive not because it wants to comment on sociopathic behavior, but because it is lazy and just wants to show prolonged death scenes without having to justify any of them.

Hell, i really doubted the quality of this flick pretty much up to the brilliant "beginning". That soldier-type-piece-of-fucking-shit-character pissed me off to no end! But damn this movie was worth watching ... it just gets darker and sicker by the minute. Without this site & your expertise I'd certainly never enjoyed this. Thanks!

I didn't much care for it. It doesn't go anywhere. It sort of is like the slasher flicks where the victims are stupid as hell, but the killers also happen to be the kind where you wanna put a boot in their face. But that doesn't happen.

I'm with everybody else who says this film HAS TO BE SNOBBED. I loved it! I love how some of the death scenes were filmed in slow motion. When David climbs the ladder and throws the spear...damn, that was funny! I noticed at the end of the movie it says "The Beginning." Was there ever some kind of a sequel to this flick?
