Kind of strange i read Blade of the Immortal and Gunnm, but the gore scenes in this movie looked kind of pukeworthy for me, even though they were absolutly fake. I guess it's the close up or that you simply don't expect them in a lifeaction movie because of how unrealistic they were. I guess you guys can call me a weakling for that.
But yeah the movie seems to be funny in how uneven the power levels seem to be. It's as if Superman beats up a giant killer robot with ease and is then shot by a mugger with a gun and nearly dies from it. I wonder if the makers did it on purpose, being unable to take the manga serious.

The most you should have to matte anything is once! The videos should be 16:9, no encoded mattes. People with 16:9 monitors don't need you to put black bars at the top and bottom. If the movie is 16:9 matted onto 4:3, just cut off the mattes! It's easy! Stop making the video clips so damn small!

Awesome review. The ending was an uncommon classic.

Badass! First time poster here, but long time lurker. I dig all the reviews Brad, but this one takes the cake. That was a crossover of epic proportions!
Out of curiosity do you plan on tackling the sequel, "Dint King, Inside King"? I hear it's supposed to be exceptionally bad.

Hey,
I'm a new fan so I don't know if Brad has answered this already, but where did Brad download the films like Bruno Matti's Terminator 2 and The Refrigerator or are they available on youtube like this one and i can put them together on a DVD?

That was awesome Brad. I'm glad to see so many new Snob episodes coming out. The Shane reference at the end was awesome too ^_^

The review was great. Looks like a great movie if I ever get into my gore phase again--especially with that ending!
And the ending fight scene! I was rocking out to the music! it was likie a Pierre Kirby movie in its awesomeness! Youtube's loss is definitely our gain!

nice Shane ending if I remember right.

Hey Brad, nice job as usual. Was that Brian playing your stunt double? He did a good job. Too bad you don't have the budget for street fighter style moves; there needs to be a move called "Ted-doken."

Thank you Mike, I fill in where I can.

Was that a moomins referance at the end...?

There are two things that make for horrible movie material: anime and video games.
If somebody Rule 34's THIS flick, I'll kill myself slowly and painfully.

Man, I love me some good bad fighting.
Loved the voice switching and 'Shane' ref.

I absolutely love that 80's music you keep using for Kung Tai Ted scenes!
Is there any way to get those without extracting the VHS audio?

I seriously think this was my favorite video of yours. You really seemed to have a lot of fun during it too.

I'm sure you've had this requested of you many times before, but you should do a top 10 of your favorite exploitation films, much like Doug did on TGWTG. I'd love to see it!

Great scott! I just noticed just before Brad shot that red devil Kung Tai Ted he shouted the magic words, "JESUS CHRIST!" That must have been the Jesus shotgun lost for centuries in the backwoods of Louisiana! They need to make a toy of inspiring sacred violence of this miraculous holy tool for all the children just like...
THE JESUS CHRIST ACTION FIGURE!!!

Jeebus, what is the deal with the japanese(/east asian) people and their love of SUPER IMMORTAL protagonists. I cannot count the times watching east asian action/adventure type shit that I have found myself rooting for the bad guys, since they are obiously the ones at a disadvantage, even though they're superior in number.
Well I guess that isn't something that's only found in east asian entertainment; those guys Mel Gibson and Steven Seagal and Charles Bronson have made kinda successful careers out of playing SUPER IMMORTAL characters too.
Well anyways, as super immortal characters go, this Riki-Oh takes the cake, hands down. He punched a hole through a PRISON WALL. Just 'cause he felt like it. What a menace to society! <:O

Hehe, great fun seeing The Snob taking on this little gem. This movie is so awesomely over the top and enjoyable, I'm glad it gets a bit of spotlight.
Great review. The body double fight in the end was a lot of fun.

I fucking love this movie!

I have to say for a movie bad as it was. It did have some cool gory makeup scenes. But it was either great or super cheesy. I love how you threw in the gag of making it obvious that Brian was playing your double in the ending fight scene. lol

Haha. Love the 'The Exterminator' reference.

Hey Brad! I there any way you could email me the MP3 of the amazing 80s song during the fight scene?

Heh. Brilliant stuff at the end there. Doesn't look like one of the worse movies you've reviewed, but that sort of inconsistency is pretty damned annoying.
Also, one million points forever for the Fistful Of Dollars music

So how do you really feel about the movie? I like the video, but I liked the movie too. I was actually putting off watching this review because I wanted to watch the movie first, so I just literally finished it about 20 minutes ago.

The one movie out of all of these that I have actually seen, and it was epic. I love Riki-Oh, it's so insanely over the top with its silly violence. This is the one movie that I actually was able to just sit around with high school friends and watch like I'm sure all you internet reviewers do all the time, so this is the first time I've truly been able to identify with the utter ridiculousness of a Snob review target. Bravo.

Hey Cinema Snob, did you know there is a sequel to this film?

You mentioned Jew Wario in your thanks. How come?

Gotta say my favorite overall Cinema Snob joke is featured in this episode. The Big Jim Slade joke. LMAO

that's one obvious stuntman too many, brad. your slim n' sexy bodice totally gave it away. however, that was still an awesome fucking fight scene.

I love this review! This is one of the films the Snob has reviewed that I've ACTUALLY seen!
I want to know though, what was the name of that song at the end? (The same one used for Pierre Kirby week I mean)

This movie is, to me, all that's great and fun about chop socky films; ridiculous lines and non-stop "WTF?!" fighting scenes.

Wow. All this was missing was a close up of the cat in the background for no reason and Ted should know that you need to put the grass in your opponent's mouth to kill them.
But then again how many obscure movie references can you fit in one video?
Reply to this
Kind of strange i read Blade of the Immortal and Gunnm, but the gore scenes in this movie looked kind of pukeworthy for me, even though they were absolutly fake.
Anyway nice fight scene against Kung Tai Ted at the end.
Plus the Piere Kirby music.

Ok. The last couple films were 16:9 matted onto 4:3. Some were even 4:3 matted onto 16:9 matted again onto 4:3. But this one I swear must be 16:9 matted onto 4:3 matted again onto 16:9 and then matted one more time onto 4:3! It's too fucking small! Stop all this matting!
But I did enjoy the fight.

Who was the kid at the end?

actually you can whistle with leaves. although you push the entire leaf flat to your mouth, not just the side.
so even though it's possible they still screwed it up.

That was great. The snob knows kung fu and can kick Kung Tai's ass. Plus he can exit a scene like Clint Eastwood and Shane all at the same time. A barrel of laughs.

Actually they do explain that Ricky uses a special form of martial arts called Qigong in which he controls his breathing and temper to become immune to pain. When caught off guard his abilities don't work quite right and he is able to be hurt.
