In one of the highlights of my life, I got to sit down for a brief interview with Mark Patton, star of "A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge." While I kept calm and cool on the outside, I guarantee that on the inside, I was screaming "Holy shit, I'm interviewing Mark Patton!!"

I really like the second one too. More of a psychological film rather than just a simple slasher. The director, Jack Sholder, also did one of my favorite horror/sci-fi/action films of the eighties, "The Hidden". If you have not seen it, you MUST!

Elm Street 2 is really good. The first one is my favorite but this sequel was also genius. The interview is pretty funny because you can see that deep down inside you really just want to jump in joy, bask in Mark Patton's awesomeness and chant "I am not worthy".

I like Nightmare 2 also! I also see the point that a lot of people make saying that there is a lot of homosexual undertone. It's a great psychological tale as you said Brad.

Exceptional job considering the chaos and your inner giddiness. It's nice to see when the interviewee isn't totally repulsed by the questions and actually respects the fan for making intelligent inquiry. It's embarrassing to watch some guys make themselves look vapid in proximity to their idols. Congratulations on making a great impression!

Elm Street 2 is a great example of the way 80s slashers could sometimes balance a light aesthetic with interesting ideas.

Okay, Brad, you now I love you, right? But I have to give some constructive critisism. I've seen and heard a few of your interviews and there's a couple of things that kinda bother me...
First of you go like "a-ha, a-ha, yeah, mmm, yeah, okey" all the fucking time. I'm sitting here trying to listen to an interview and all I hear is this "mm, cool, yeah, a-ha". Just... listen, you know? Makes it seem like you're rushing the person your interviewing like "a-ha, yeah, hurry up, mm, yeah, on with it". I know it's like the way you are and all that and you know I'm not dissing you or anything, but it's kinda like bad journalism when it get's to the point that it's distracting.
And another thing, you periodicly take a deep breath like you're about to say something - right in the middle of your guest's sentence. And yeah, I know you haven't done a lot of these and no one expects you to do perfect right away. And you're nervous. I get that. But we're all friends here, right? So I think I should speak up.
Just try to calm down, take a deep breat and listen. Let the guest talk, they're pros at that.
But nice to see you got to meet Jesse! Right on, man.
And I'm looking forward to seeing and hearing more of your interviews.

Yeah Brad! You need to be exactly like Larry King! Christ, what have you done, like 3 interviews now? Clearly that means you should be as professional sounding as Bill Moyers or Tom Snyder. Bottom line is, if I tune in next time and you're not as perfect of an interviewer as Charlie Rose, I am never coming here again. If I can't expect internet reviewers to be as good as Johnny Carson then what is this world coming to?

While the second Nightmare movie is my least favorite (I've spoken about why before, theres no need to bring it up again =) ) it's really cool that he took a few minutes to interview.
He seems like a decent guy and I know your a big fan, so grats Brad!

Great interview. I was so glad to hear from Mark Patton since I loved him in Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge. I really think that movie is up there with the first one for it's psychological horror premise, metaphors, atmosphere and premise that it really is a shame the second never received the respect it deserved. Still great to see him and best of luck to Mister Mark Patton in future endeavors.

Count me as another fan of FREDDY'S REVENGE. It's a great film. I re-watched it recently with my girlfriend and we both decided it's the most overlooked slasher film in a major series. The poster art for it is the best of the entire Elm St. canon, too.

I actually watched Freddy's Revenge yesterday and just laughed. I love this movie for it's camp value and Kim Myers was decent looking. I always wanted to hear Mark Patton's take on the movie himself. It does feel like the homosexual under/over tones of the movie were avoided in the interview.
