I believe Kasugai Peanuts are soy sauce, seaweed, and something else (salt, probably) encasing a peanut. Yeah. And you were rather prophetic when you guessed that they'd all be shit since you liked the toffee.

Not necesarily. I live in Japan and Kasugai Peanuts is just a variety of peanuts we have here. The ones with the seaweed coating are just one of the ways they are prepared and sold. And I love all of them

Walkers are MASSIVE in England.
The reason for the prize is that Walkers love to let people make up there own flavored and then make them, and the best one will become manufactured for a few years or more depending on how well they are received.

Walkers is the most popular brand of crisps in england, theres nothing unusual about them. Well, apart from the time they tried tomato sauce flavoured crisps and choclate flavoured crisps, that was odd.

...or if you can't afford that, just go to Japantown in San Francisco. I'm pretty sure I've seen most of those in the small groceries around town. My friend LOVES durian, and you can find durian ice cream in the ice cream shops in my neighborhood. I HATE the smell, but some people must like it.

Brad, there is a very good Kasugai Peanuts flavor: the "Usupii". It's peanuts coated with an irregular layer of corn. It's awesome. What you ate is supposed to be squid flavored and it's the nastiest you can find.
They also have green peas coated with the same corny substance. Quite decent too.

As an Australian, I can tell you that Vegemite is actually tame in comparison. Try Promite, Marmite and even Mightymite. I can't even describe how the taste differs, but they are all strangely addictive.

Just so everyone knows Musk Sticks actually are meant to have that texture. They are have the kind of texture of being stale and when you eat them they sort of break apart. What can I say Australians like some weird stuff.

I've never had cuttlefish crackers, but I've had octopus chips, and it was horribly salty and fishy. I love cuttlefish strips, but it is definitely not something that should be baked/puffed.

Those Musk sticks if thats how its spelled? where sold at my canteen at school and i remember they were the cheapest thing and so one day i tried one. HOLY GOD i wanted to puke they are so bad and they trick you into believing they are candy Its such a cruel joke to play on us as children. I hope they got rid of them when i left .

Walkers are awesome...particularly when they do new flavour competitions. If someone could please send him some of the special edition multipacks that have been around recently....Onion Bhaji flavour, Fish and Chip flavour, Breakfast flavour - Bacon and Egg really. Anyone have Hedgehog flavour or Chocolate flavour that were around a few years back?

Yeah a few of those flavours are impressively foul. I think probably the chocolate and chilli takes the cake in the "this is an abomination against flavour" department though.
I really found it odd that something so normal in England (excluding plain salted, Prawn Cocktail is the third most common/popular flavour) is so out there to you guys. I'm a little suprised that America doesnt have similar flavours to Britain considering that Walkers is part of Frito Lays.

Another amazing Brad Tries! I once bought Cuttlefish flavored chips myself and when I got them home they were expired by 3 years, so I decided against trying them and getting to ride in an ambulance. Oh and Lloyd was hilarious, it's like he was trying to warn you how bad the food was going to be, that guy needs his own video ^_^

I've never had durian, but what I've heard is that it's a lot easier to like when it's processed. With fresh durian, you have the stink getting all over the place, but when you put it in a candy that goes away.

I love this experimentation, although I worry about the age of some of the things you try (health wise). Still this is pretty sweet. The worst combination I've ever tried was in one of Beijing's night markets: stinky tofu on a stick followed by a bit of cuttlefish roasted on a stick. I don't know which one of them did me in or if it was the combination, but that was one of the few foods I have ever spit out.

Cuttlefish crackers are amazing, but I think the problem was that they sent you soy sauce flavour. Wtf were they thinking? Normal cuttlefish crackers are so addictive.
You also butchered 'kasugai' something fierce, made me cringe. 'Kah-soo-guy' for future reference.

It says here that musk is a substance obtained from the gland a male Musk Deer & is often used in perfumes. So it's eccentially Deer Ambergris.
It's pronounced "Kahs'guy" The Is & Us in the middle are pronounced so quickly in Japanese that they're basically silent. Kasugai is a brand, not a flavor. It's probably dehydrated wasabi nuts.

I think my favorite episode of this so far is actually the Bird's Nest one-- my husband and I have tried so many random Asian drinks that I laughed my ass off when you discovered the chunks. Ah, Asian drinks and their chunks.

I've had Durian candy and Durian wafers, and I couldn't finish either, tasted like rotten onion... aftertaste was with me for a while, and you get the famous Durian burps. My local international market sells them whole, they are sharp as hell, you could kill someone.

I can vouch for his "sweet and sour mixed with Wasabi" idea. I tried that today at the sushi bar..and it was quite delishous.
And don't avoid food all together. can understand how you wish to focus more on soda and other drinks, it being your forte, the strange and exotic foods you find are also interesting to watch, though I did see where the "Musk" flavor was going..ick.

Actually, Durians are famous for tasting great. It's the smell that's gotten them banned from residential areas in some places. By the way, I live in New York, so if you're ever in need of weird food or drinks, don't hesitate to drop me a line! Just had Mexican Coca Cola the other day. I know it's far from obscure, but it is really good!

As people have pointed out Walkers is the British arm of Lays, and both are owned by Pepsi (or were at least) so the logo of both is kind of a version of the old Pepsi design. Not a fan of Prawn Cocktail myself, prefer their smokey bacon myself. Though Quavers (cheesy er... curls for those who don't know) own both imho.

I was in Shanghai recently and Walkers was in every supermarket, so its not just Japanese. I saw the regular flavors (Original, BBQ, etc.), and then I saw the Prawn Cocktail and Chinese Cooked Fish.
I also bought some cans of Pringle's Limited Edition Seaweed flavor, Lays Iced Tea flavor, and Lays Lime flavor potato chips. I might be able to send them over, even though the seaweed one is pretty bland and the other two are EXACTLY as advertised.
It's mindboggling how a potato chip can taste like a dried form of Brisk.

There is a company that sells energy drinks and powders (i think) in blood package form and gamer form that you need to try. Can i send them to you or do you find them? I have tried 3 of the 4 and they are interesting, if for nothing other than the packaging....one of them is called zombie blood energy potion, there is regular blood energy potion, and mana (energy) potion all of which you can find at hot topic. The one i can't find is Health potion which they don't sell at my particular hot topic...please let me know because i want to know your reaction to these products. I have got to try some durian! I THINK... but I'm not sure... that when I was 20 my girlfriend at the time bought a frozen one from a natural grocery store she worked at, but I'm not sure... if I tried it, I don't remember it, but people tell me I WOULD NOT FORGET THE SMELL if I had, so, that's still on my list, but I heard it is pretty tastey... smells like dead bodies, but yummy.
Never had the cuttlefish, but all the Asian markets up here sell them... I have had the prawns as well as shrimp chips many times and thought they were alright... nothing special, just for when you want somethign differnt...
