Brad Tries Inca Kola

I take time out from the busy "Paranoia" schedule to taste the Golden Inca Kola.  I also try out Tropicola, Kola Champagne India, and Materva.

Nooo! Kola Champagne India is NOT from India!! India is the manufacturing company. The cola was actually from Puerto Rico, produced by what used to be India Brewery, now Puerto Rico brewery. It used to be made, literally two blocks away from my apartment. Inca Kola and Kola India both taste the same because they're both "cola champagne". It's a very popular flavor in Latin America.

I recommend trying it at least once, it's probably much better than it's diet cousin. I find it funny that Brad has never had a Yerba Mate drink before. Having lived in the San Fransisco Bay Area for four years and the massively overblown hippie village of South Lake Tahoe almost my whole life, i thought that kind of drink was fairly common. Granted though it is a foreign drink so you do have to look for it, just not that hard. Its not the kind of drink i would WANT to buy, but its a fairly common ingredient in "Novelty" drinks you can get at a fair or local event, or in the right part of town. As far as the delayed taste goes, i would associate it with the kind of experience you'd get drinking a strong ginseng drink, or a 5 hour energy. So yeah, it's not that bad :]

Brad you're dead on with your review on Inca Kola, Materva(shitty then...Good?) but in Cuba, Tropicola actually tastes like Shasta or Superchill basically a cheap rip off of Coke. The Trpoicola you did was different from the ones i had as a kid in Cuba. We also had a fake Pepsi called Tu Kola, Fake Sprite under the name of Cachito, and actually a fart superior orange soda to anything you guys got here in the states called Najita. oh and if you really want some latin nastiness try Malta, it puts bubblegum sodas and Materva to shame.

I know where you're coming from with the bubble-gum analogy, but the flavor is a true kola (from the nut) - the difference in taste here is that it doesn't contain molasses like the dark cola's we enjoy in North America.

I'd love to see you try:

    1. Freeze dried Giant Isopod
    2. "Fragrant Meat" flavored anything from a south-east asian country. Hopefully artificial.

Speaking of tea, Arizona Iced Tea sold in Canada is pretty different. As for imported drinks, don't be afraid to ask for imported drinks and food. There's something over here called T&T Supermarket...and we have several small foreign food stores on any major street (I have three of them a mile away from where I live). Hi Everyone!!!!...it`s logic how ppl tries to enable a logic, establishing relation with something new to them(it sux!!), and something that they knew in their normal lifes.Dont be lazy please and explore k?...Inca Kola is a soft drink created in Peru in 1935 by British immigrant José Robinson Lindley using lemon verbena (verbena de Indias or cedrón in Spanish) although many believe that lemon grass, a herb native to India (but its not included),its (hierba Luísa in Spanish)including here in Peru many people confuses hierba buena with hierba luisa(is not the same ok?)cuz of diferent flavors.
About the name INKA KOLA its INKA because of our legacy, and yes ITS NOT THE FIRST drink that was inspired from our lands... If you are courious then you are going to find that COCA COLA most important ingredient (when it was created) was COCA LEAFS(zomg yes coca leafs 9mml of cocaine per bottle lol),lime, sugar and nuts ,the most important herb of Inka`s Legacy common in rituals and ancient medicine, actually, ppl that lives in the andes comunities is still usin coca leafs as energetic food cuz of their properties. Its a placer for a Peruvian like me to say that the idea of Coca Cola was formulated by a guy named John Pemberton (not a common guy obviously and he was very interested to use his formula in medical ways) in 1886 and he get the idea from the Coca wine, a popular french drink created for Angel-François Mariani who was a peruvian lover(some people says that he was cocain adict but he wasnt) great things cant come from ppl that kills his brain, if you doubt it then just check the labels that he used for his Coca wine, "coca du pèrou"(coca from Peru) in french .Cheers

Hi Everyone!!!!...it`s logic how people tries to enable a logic, establishing relation with something new to them(it sucks!!), and something that they knew in their normal limes.Don't be lazy please and explore k?...Inca Kola is a soft drink created in Peru in 1935 by British immigrant José Robinson Lindley using lemon verbena (verbena de Indias or cedrón in Spanish) although many believe that lemon grass, a herb native to India (but its not included),its (hierba Luísa in Spanish)including here in Peru many people confuses hierba buena with hierba luisa(is not the same ok?)cuz of diferent flavors.
