actually, super mario bros. 2 was not the stuff you were referring to throughout this. what you were referring to was the doki-doki panic clone ported outside of Japan with mario's universe dressed up in it. the real super mario bros. 2 is quite different from what you were referring to in this review.
Can forgive you, though. Seeing how you are the cinema snob and not the video game snob.

The problem is, it wasn't super mario bros 2. I saw no Bowser, no mushrooms, were there any pipes? hardly anything, other than the main characters themselves, from the super mario bros universe.
Its understandable that Brad would make references to the usa port, seeing how his viewers probably are more familiar with the game, same as Brad.
My comment wasn't intended to be looked at as "OH MY F**KING GOD! SATAN HIMSELF MADE REFERENCES TO THE WRONG GAME!!!!!! THE WORLD IS OVER!" it was simply just me throwing out acknowledgment to the, what I would consider, better and more accurate version of the game.

Let me help everyone out. It's called Super Mario Bros 2, it's Super Mario Bros 2. That's the name. It may be a copy of another game, it may not be the "original" or "official" Mario 2, but it will always be Super Mario Bros 2 to me.

King Pooper looks alot like Oogtar the Caveboy from the Super Mario World animated series. Who, by the way, was voiced by John Stocker, the same guy that voiced Toad in the SMBSS!

The reason King Pooper is only in one scene is because the actor had a heart attack on set and died. They must have been told by the producer to finish it anyways, so that's why the ending had to explain Pooper's absence.
