How can anything be worse in special effects (3d wise at least) than The Last Airbender? I mean god, that was a shit-fest (excuse my cursing). And I'm a fan of the animated series too.

To be fair, when babies kick and squirm inside a pregnant belly, sometimes you CAN see a distinct outline of their feet against the mother's belly. It's super creepy. I'm sure it could be done badly in CGI though.

That thing sounds like that one scene in the first 'Anaconda' movie, where you see the facial features of one of the CGI snake's victims pressed through the snake's belly skin.

I think i can't come up with any scene in any movie that sums up better what is wrong with Hollywood nowadays that that one.

It's like you two switched personality's. Anyways I'm a bit of a dumb ass and didn't actually say anything about the movie. I really didn't like this. The dialog is laughably bad. The characters are stupid as all hell and really the story is so complicated that I'm amazed you reached the conclusion you did as it being a Elm Street 2 knock off. I gotta ask ya brad is there a Wes Craven movie that you've liked since like maybe Scream. I don't know if you like Scream but from then and on is there a movie by Wes Craven that is really worth watching. I guess I would go with Red Eye but even that's a stretch. Try and get back to me on that if you can. But yeah good review man look forward to the next videos. Try and get out to see the American remake of Let the right one in you may like it

My friend wanted to see the movie, and didn't tell me it was in 3D until we got there. It looked like absolute shit, and the Riverton Ripper was the least scary serial killer I've ever seen. This movie was 90% annoying jump scares and shitty writing, and 10% bland, shitty acting that almost put me to sleep.

lol i like it when i'm proven right. everything you said in this review is what i said about the trailer(not seen the movie and not going to lol). also when you mentioned the pregnant belly with the foot. i started laughing my head off, as i'm currently 34 weeks pregnant with twins. i do get a lot of kicks of my babies but your right it is more like lumps appearing and my belly changing shape than outlines of feet or hands, but thats just my experience lol(still feels like a scene out of alien). i really feel wes craven has been losing it and its horrible to see a great director fall so badly. personally the last good horror movies i watched were mirrors and drag me to hell. my soul to take is a badly written and poorly executed piece of shlock cinema that will either be forgotten or get cult status in a few years for being his worst movie. just need to wait and see.

i saw this in 3d. only 1 scene used the 3d in the right way. it was the scene where the ambulance flips over and 2 pieces of gravel come at you....lame. but surprisingly it did not look like shit really it just looked normal. but this movie i really liked it. but i was with a group of of riffers and we riffed the shit out of this. also there are some lines in there that so bad that they are great! i found this movie very quotable. also it was very funny the whole theater was in a uproar of laughter for many scenes. i liked this as a comedy. but as a horror movie it fails.

The Movie is well made, actors does a fantastic job, music is perfect and i dont recommend this to anyone. i hate my curiousness and i think you will too if you decide to watch it.

Wes Craven has lost his damn mind....My Soul to Take is just about as bad as New Nightmare, which is truly astonishing. And yes, I did see it in 3D, and yes, the conversion is terrible and it's hard to even tell when the 3D is in effect. Needless to say, you didn't miss much. Great review as always, it's glad to see somebody else suffered through this waste....actually, that's unfair, since this is one of the most entertaining movies in quite some time. It;s even more amusing than Devil.

Just wanted to say real quick that I'm looking forward to the new stuff coming up.
Just wanted to let you know, though, that "Now I lay me down to sleep..." is not a nursery rhyme (you've got Freddy on the brain! Ha!)- it's a prayer.
-One my Grandmother taught to me, in Italian, when I was very young and I would say each night before I went to bed.
On a particularly bad day, I still will- out of nostalgic habit, I suppose.
But, yeah- just so you know. (I hear it's half the battle.)

When I was in High School I had that big VHS boxed-set they came out with (back in 94/95), I don't even think New Nightmare was part of it because it had just come out. -I watched those things to death, bro... to death. I used to be able to quote them like you were doing from Elm St. Part Two in that one video.

I thought there was some strong effort in the writing and acting (great dialogue-intentional or otherwise-and Craven gets some excellent performances from the kids), but suffered from weak "horror" elements: unscary fiend, needless CG, some convolution later in the plot, and funny characters bumped off too soon and in unsatisfying ways.

I had an opportunity to see this for free on Sunday night, so I figured I'd take advantage of it. I saw the 3D version, and yeah, the 3D was pretty lackluster. I was in a 275-seat auditorium and there were 10 other people there. I thought that Bug looked like Jesse Walsh... and acted like Michael Cera. Things improved a bit in the second half of the film, but it continued to move too fast for its own good. So basically, it's a pretty mediocre horror film with just a little bit of originality... drowning in a sea of cliches. I don't regret seeing it, but then again, it was a free movie for me.

Also, I'm kind of surprised that you didn't mention when the religious redhead chick (aka not-Lisa Webber) said to "turn on the prayer conditioning." Worst quote I've heard in a movie all year.

I went to a preview opening of this film Thursday up here in Alberta. The showing was in 3-D and thankfully I didn't have to pay for this! What a waste of time. There was no need for this to be 3-D though the depth of field at times i.e. the night shots of the bridge over the river with fog rolling under it, were nice. That was it though. Nothing, not even the ambulance, jumped out at us. This movie was a Big Ball O'Cheese, with a whiff of sour aftertaste. Not as bad as Deadly Friend, but not as good as Shocker. It was like an episode of Degrassi High mixed with Nightmare on Elm Street 2. Raimi hit his return out of the park, Craven struck out. Hopefully Carpenter's The Ward will be better than this.
