Red beans in Japan are a type of sweet tasting bean used in many pastry items and even ice cream. I cannot imagine it working as a drink, but I would give Daifuku a try, a small rice ball confection. Extremely good.

I lived in Japan for a year and was there for Pepsi White which I tried even though I'm not a huge pop fan. I'm trying to remember the taste, I think it was just a carbonated vanilla and I'm pretty sure I gave it to one of my friends to finish.
I really liked Melon Fanta, however. It tasted a bit like Cream Soda but it was neon green! Mix it with the melon alcohol, Midori, and it was a great and quick drink for parties.
CC Lemon was another awesome pop (mixed well with Midori as well) and as it says, it was a lemon flavoured drink and great if you're lacking Vitamin C as they say there's like 30 lemons worth of Vitamin C in each bottle.
But if you're amused by the rotating flavours of Pepsi, you should check out their Kit-Kat fetish. About every month or two is a new flavour. I personally had: white chocolate, banana, orange, lemon, apple, apple-carrot, apple vinegar, ramune, sour orange, sakura, and likely a few more. But it's like a game to find new flavours when you go to the store.

They actually just came out with Pepsi Mont Blanc in Japan! I was thinking of trying it, but I've never even had the desert itself yet.
The only place I know it get it sells it at a price $4 a pop (har). :\

I've been looking forward to this Brad Tries for a while, and, as always, it was awesome. However, one criticism I do have is that I wasn't fond of the video having background music. It made it feel less vlogish, and I really like that aspect of the series.
I did love having Jillian in it, though. She and your friends are always excellent in your videos.

I don't know if they would have Japanese Pepsi, but if you have a Mitsuwa near you, they import Japanese drinks. However, looking at the Mitsuwa wikipedia page, it seems like there is only a small amount across the country, so you may need to wait for a reason to go to Chicago, Edgewater New Jersey, or Southern California to check them out.
I know the one near my family has weird stuff like coke flavor jelly soda, so I am sure you would be able to find something awesomely weird there.

Long time watcher, first time writing. Loved the video and loved that your wife has the same ringtone as I do! gotta love that classic zelda sound.
I think the funniest thing my gf ordered at our favorite bar here in Albany was a beer called vergina. It's made in Greece I think... Honestly it was nothing special just thought it was funny when she went up to the bartender and asked "can I have a vergina". lol the guy asked her if that was a trick question.

Good thing you used Turning Japanese in the beginning with the Vapors version, not the Kirsten Dunst version because the original version will always be far superior!

The inclusion of the Japanese man at the end was a perfect way to bring the episode to a close. I'd say, right next to the car crash ending, this would be my 2nd favorite. thanks for that add to detail.

I've been in Japan since 2005, and the Cucumber Ice Pepsi came out in 2007. I remember actually buying it from a convenience store and drinking it. Honestly, it was pretty good. Compared to all the Pepsis Brad and Jillian tried it was better than those. From my fuzzy memory of it, it tasted strangely pepperminty (because of course, cucumbers taste like peppermint).
I've actually got a collection of crazy ramune flavors (The popular soda sealed with a marble that you pop open). They've got stuff like kimchi and curry flavor! I'm too afraid to try these, but if Brad wants to have another Japan-themed episode...

I actually enjoyed the banter between you and Jillian during this. If you want to do other Brad Tries with her that would be cool. If not though, that's okay too honey. Whatever makes you feel comfortable.
Also, to Mr. Lost Profit, that is not very polite and you are breaking my heart. Not really but it is still very sad. You should try some Ecto-Cooler. Shit is delicious and really calms the nerves. But if you're diabetic don't get too care-free with it. It could spell trouble despite its flavorful taste.

Actual red bean paste does in fact taste quite a bit like grape jam (and not that much like beans), although it varies by the exact recipe. People who have access to an Asian supermarket or bakery should probably be able to find it, since (as has been said already) red bean paste is a fairly popular filling for pastries in various Asian countries.

The more I see Jillian the more I love her. You are so lucky to be married to her Brad.
I really suggest that you try mochi (someone in an earlier comment mentioned Daifuku which is a type of mochi). Also you should try Ramune which is a carbonated drink. If I ever get some money I'll try and send you some for the show.

We have some red bean icecream here thats sold in 711. Its a waffle shaped like a fish wrapped around vanilla icecream and redbean mixture. The beans taste more like chocolate to me than anything and that shit is good.
If you want some asian melon soda or some other random stuff they sell them here as well.

Wondering if they taste as bad as he says, cause both the Urge Intense Triple Rush is tasty, and the Pink Panther soda, it's delicious, i had some yesterday.

Whenever Brad tries these drinks from foreign countries like Japan, I like to think there's someone doing exact same thing over there, but with something we find totally normal. Like Japanese Brad (whom we will call "Takeshi") is sitting there going "Today we're trying Cherry Coke! Oh God it tastes like the ass!"

Jillian should make make an appearence as herself in more of your videos because she really holds her own on camera just as well as Sarah, Brian or Jerrid, plus the two of you have such a genuinely sweet and relaxed way of interacting with each other that's always nice to watch.

You know what you oughta try? Moxie. It used to be a really big deal (bigger than Coke or Pepsi, in fact) but now you only find it up here in New England, and they even have a pretty wide array of products.
While it's still fairly popular in parts of New England (I love the stuff) it has the unique honor of having a festival dedicated to it in some town in New Hampshire, where they crown a Moxie King and Queen.
They covered said festival on Food Network and interviewed the Moxie Queen and she hates the stuff.
It's one of those sodas you either really love or really hate.

I'm a long-time viewer, first-time poster... Brad, your reaction to Pepsi Azuki was exactly like mine. It tasted really odd at first, but then I got to like it. I went to Japan for study abroad last year, and Azuki was the kind they were selling at the time. These seasonal Pepsis weren't sold in vending machines, but were commonly sold at convenience stores. The current specialty Pepsi sold in Japan is "Pepsi Mont Blanc," which supposedly tastes like the famous chestnut desert.
