Yay! A CHRISTMAS STORY kicks ass. Bob Clark, R.I.P.

And can I just say, in the most respectful way I can, that Jillian looks delicious in that Santa outfit.

    Yowza!!

What a great episode of THE BIG BOX, and rather unexpected too, considering how popular this one is. A CHRISTMAS STORY is my all-time favorite Christmas movie; after watching BLACK CHRISTMAS for the first time, you can definitely tell, judging from the fish-eye scenes in the Santa visit, that Bob Clark directed both movies. Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!

There must be something wrong with UK television when it comes to the Christmas holidays, because I have never seen 'A Christmas Story'. Or 'A Charlie Brown Christmas'.

Where were Ming The Merciless and Flash Gordon in this movie? In the parade scene? In the background at Higbee's? I'm going to have to go back and study this film frame by frame.

It was a fantasy sequence with Ralphie and Flash Gordon characters. The scene was shot, but edited out of the film. They just forgot to take the actors and characters off of the credits.

It's pretty amazing how people don't know about the other movies in this series that feature the Parker family.

Said movies are It Runs in the Family, Ollie Hopnoodle's Haven of Bliss, The Great American Fourth of July and Other Disasters, and The Phantom of the Open Hearth.

Btw people there are websites that sell the leg lamp and even deliver it to you in that crate with that packing from the movie.

I wonder if there are any special editions that include the deleted scene...

Also, I don't understand why the image of a British man with a stereotypical Italian accent standing alone on Christmas Day, staring at a massive bookself filed with movies, muttering "I'm so alone" is funny, but I cannot deny that it is.

I really haven't seen this in a couple years, only cause my sister and ex-girlfriend would watch it for ALL 24 HOURS when it was on. But that's all different since on Christmas Day I got Flesh & Blood and Barn of the Blood Llamas so I was bribed into watching this with the family... I'll stop rambling now.

Ah, A Christmas Story. One of the most classic and beloved Christmas movies out there.

Personally, I'd love to see someone tear it down, ala Spoony's review of Ferris Bueller's Day Off, but some things just can't be done.

That is just too awesome! Yes, originally there was a dream sequence where Ralphie fought Ming the Merciless with Flash Gordon. Unfortunately, Bob Clark thought it was too silly and cut the scenes from the film.

Fantastic. I didn't need to watch this movie to become a furry. And no, the stereotypes don't do us justice. Just nerds having fun in character costumes. Love the review and have a Happy New Year!

Yesterday, while perusing through my local Goodwill, I just happened across a big box VHS! It's DEATH AT LOVE HOUSE, a 1975 TV horror movie produced by Aaron Spelling and Leonard Goldberg, starring Kate Jackson (CHARLIE'S ANGELS) and Robert Wagner (HART TO HART). It was released by Prism Entertainment in 1985, and I purchased it for the amazingly low price of $1 (all VHS tapes sold there are for $1 BTW)! I've gained a new-found appreciation for Goodwill since somebody will donate a rare gem like this!

I noticed a goof around 6:37- When the Big Box Model opens the video box, you can see the cassette is fully rewound. However, when it cuts back to the cassette, it now appears that the film is at the end.
