Brad Tries Big Flats Beer
It's Jerrid's birthday! So to help him celebrate, we're getting him started early by trying out the cheap ass Walgreen's brand beer Big Flats, as well as some other beers like Chili Beer, Butt-head, Raging Bitch, and a Chocolate Cherry Beer.
Also, stick around for the end, where Jerrid opens his birthday present.

Ahh come on, I work at Coors, it aint that bad.

I've got to agree with Brad on this, I have pretty low standards but I won't drink Coors even when it's free. What do you expect from a company that markets directly to people who can't tell if their beer is cold?

Beer and chocolate? UGH!
Sounds like a great vomit recipe!

Happy birthday Jerrid! For the love of all that is holy, if there IS some drunk Waltons board game action, please put that video up!

Enjoy the board game Jerrid. If someone were to give me one of those for my birthday, I would want it to be that Pacman board game from back in the 80s.

Don't get into a drunken rage if you lose playing the Waltons!

Highland IL, Hmmmm haven't heard that Insult used since I moved away from that area. Being from Collinsville IL and what not and now living in Alabama, Highland is Paradise to most towns here.

I'd love to see Brad and Jerrid play the Waltons game. Not even in character, just a vlog of it would be hilarious enough. Anyway, happy 31st.

For what it's worth, "Belgian-style" and "India pale ale" are both American types of beer. It's not an import.
Reply to this
Actually, IPA was first brewed in the UK as a way to preserve and produce a lighter ale for British soldiers in India. It was made paler and lighter (but not lagered) to prevent it from spoiling during the six week voyage, and was usually less alcoholic due to the higher temperatures in India (Heat + humidity = lower alcohol tolerance).
As for Belgian style, it simply refers to brewing in a manner similar to that first perfected by Flemish Monks.
As a general aside, in the UK we make a distinction between lager and beer - beer usually being a more traditional ale, stout or bitter and lager being something kettled in the same manner as the continent. The cherry-chocolate beer is a great combination, as porters and stouts often already have flavour qualities similar to these. Woo, and I haven't even mentioned blonde ales yet...

Happy Birthday Jerrid. Theres the next Brad and Jerrid, "Brad and Jerrid Play The Waltons game." Brad you should try extra gold lager, if you want to try a beer that truly taste like shit. I would call myself a beer snob. I've never had the Butt-head before, looks like I have to try it next time im at the local liquor store. Keep up the good work guys, this was a fun video.

Very amusing installment!
Have to call you out on your math, Jerrid. $2/6-pack means 33.3 cents a can, not 50 cents.
Brad, it was Diet Cherry Chocolate Dr Pepper, they even had Tay Zonday sing the theme song.
Happy birthday again, Jerrid! Enjoy The Waltons game!

The Chilli Beer sounds like something I'd tryand the chocolate Cherry sounds like I'd secretly like!
Well Happy 31th to Jerrid! Waltons! My mom loves that show but I never could get it!

My uncle might like the chili beer, considering he's eaten jalapeño jam & Chili Dark Chocolate.
I won't drink anything that isn't sweet, not even water or milk, so I might like the Cherry Chocolate Beer. Only thing is, one shot of alcohol is all it takes to turn me into a Raging Bitch.
I'd love to see you guys start a review already drunk. Maybe for a weird candy review. You could call it "buzz kill."

It was totally worth sticking around to the end just to see the reveal of Jerrid's present. I would have totally guessed it was something you picked up at Goodwill.
Incidentally, you really need to see You'll Like My Mother, if you haven't already. The character Richard Thomas plays in that couldn't be less John-Boy-like.

Alright, now you have got to do an episode playing The Waltons, you just can't not do it!

Happy birthday Jerrid! Mine was just a few days ago. I didn't get an awesome present like that, though.
Another vote for seeing how the game works. I am totally lost as to how that show, of all shows, translates into a board game. And I am now also totally curious!

One year for my birthday, my friend did to me just like you did for Jerrid and got me a couple bottles of random, cool-looking beers. One of them had a chili inside. However, I don't like beer so I never drank them. In fact, I let them sit on top of my entertainment center for like a year, maybe two. When I finally went to throw them out, I saw that a good third of the chili beer had somehow disappeared. We figured out that the chili just absorbed a ton of the beer. I was half-tempted to try it just to see what it was like, but didn't.
True story.

Brad, tell Jerrid that India Pale Ales are a style of beer, so named because British beer makers transporting their beer to India found them spoiled. So they developed a bitter dark tasting beer that could withstand the trip. Hence, IPA's born. Raging Bitch is unique in that it combines a IPA with a Belgian style Ale taste. Glad you like Flying Dog as well, very great brewer.

I don't blame you on the Tommyknocker, Bock's an acquired taste (I personally like them) so a Doppelbock is definitely going to make you cringe.

it was cherry chocolate they got tay zonday to do the commercial. also its called chili beer because its a chili pepper.

Great video Brad, but I have to say that when you try beer from now on, you have to pour it in a glass. Good beer tastes a lot different when poured into a glass versus straight out of the bottle - a lot of that has to do with the aroma.

I think you're talking about the cherry-vanilla Dr. Pepper.

I'd just like to know what the ABV on these drinks are. Cheap beer is only worth it if you're getting enough alcohol in the can to actually get drunk. If it's less than 3.5% ABV you may as well drink pop. Non-export Carlsberg is a beer you can literally drink yourself sober on because if you're used to booze you'll metabolize and adjust to the alcohol faster than it'll go into your system.

The soda you were mentioning was proberly Diet Cherry Chocolate Dr Pepper

India Pale Ale is actually from England, they made it especially hoppy so it would survive the trip to India.

Would you compare it to something like Colt 45 or Old English? We have them all over in Canada, totally ghetto 8% horse piss. *blech*

I worked at Walgreens (2 1/2 years too long) and I remember when we got these in. Our store got roughly about 300 6 packs in and I thought they would never sell because I was sure they tasted like shit. But, I do live in the south so this crap sold like gangbusters.
