If for no other reason than nobody even suggested watching The Smurfs. Poor bastard.

Also I'm pretty sure Jerred could kill the entire academy awards judging panel and 9/10 people would testify in his defence in court.

Don't worry Jake, you have such great memories to look forward to next summer! Like on May 25th, when you get to see Men in Black 3 with the rest of the gang, or June 8th, when you get sent to Madagascar 3 while everybody else goes to Ridley Scott's Prometheus, or August 3rd, while Brian and Jerrid get sent to The Bourne Legacy and Brad and Boyd check out the remake of Total Recall starring Colin Farrell, you, my friend, get the priviledge of seeing the new Diary of Wimpy Kid movie!

Not to mention that fact that Sherlock Holmes 2 is coming out the same day as the Alvin and the Chipmunks 3, and the remake of The Thing is coming out the same day as the remake of Footloose. Let's cross our fingers and hope for the best, Jake!

Here are my special awards for the best blockbusters of the summer.

The best for me is Super 8 thanks to a great story, great cast, great effects, and overall great entertainment. Runner up goes to Rise of the Planet of the Apes for the same reasons above and Andy Serkis deserves a Best Supporting Actor Oscar nomination.

The biggest surprise for me was X-Men: First Class. I'm not much of an X-Men fan yet I found the movie to be really good.

Plus, Pirates 4, Mr. Popper's Penguins, and Transformers 3 fall under the 'like them for what they were' category. Finally, Thor and Captain America are tied as the best superhero movies of the summer. Thanks Marvel once again.

Oh and I know I should not shoehorn this but since we're on topic for the "biggest" movies of the fall to find, here are some possible suggestions.

    Footlose/The Thing (October 14th)
Paranormal Activity 3/The Three Musketeers (3D) (October 21st)
    Harold & Kumar 3D/Puss N'Boots (3D) (November 4th)
    Breaking Dawn Pt.1/Happy Feet 2 (3D) (November 18th)
    Arthur Christmas (3D)/Hugo (3D)/The Muppets/Piranha 3DD (November 23rd)
Sherlock Holmes 2/Alvin and the Chipmunks 3 (December 16th)
Mission: Impossible IV/Girl with the Dragon Tattoo remake (December 21st)

Not sure if you guys would do Tintin or War Horse that Christmas week, but it might be very unlikely!

By the way, Brian, you are aware you're allowed to see movies besides at midnight, right? I hope for your sake that you did see alot of better movies at non-midnight.

And if Hobo with a Shotgun counts as a summer movie, then put that right behind Potter

I'd have to say my favorite movie I saw this year was X-Men: First Class. The only other ones I saw were Green Lantern, Super 8, and Captain America. Green Lantern would be second close for me. Yeah yeah, you hated it. I get that. And I'm sure some douche(s) will probably rip me for liking it, but I did and that's my right. There were a few goofy moments that could have been left out, but I can say the same for Captain America as well. Overall I enjoyed the story, special effects, and the concept.

Very nice guys, I concur that Cowboys & Aliens was the best of the summer for me, with X-Men in close second. I didn't bother with the kids movies, but worse for me would probably be Pirates 4. Transformers 3 is close, but Pirates 4 gets it because the Pirates movies USED to be kinda cool. Right around the part in the 4th one when Jack is fighting Penelope Cruz' character, it hit me that these characters and this universe have REALLY fallen from grace.

I was kinda bummed that Jarrid didn't get to finish what he was saying at the end, tho. And, that we didn't get to hear what everybody was looking forward to (and dreading) next summer. But I'm sure we'll hear all about 'em, next summer.

PS: I'll pay for Jake's ticket, for when he gets sent to the shitty ones; THAT'S $10 worth spending.

Heya guys, it's fun to watch you guys talking about this summer's movies in the same room. There's just one thing: Brad, Brian(No, the OTHER Brian), you've overrated Cowboys and Aliens by a great margin.

The story wasn't good, the casting may very well have been stellar, but in my opinion that doesn't make a movie good, guys! Too much time wasted on minutiae like arguing with the Native Americans, the movie just needed more editing, and even then it wasn't a very ambitious movie, and it wasn't a very good western.

My Best And Worst Of The Summer.

1/2. Horrible Bosses/30 Minutes Or Less (Awesome comedies with awesome casts without any stupid god damn morals to get in the way of the funny and I enjoyed myself the entire time. I'd have to see these movies again to tell you which one was worse honestly).

    3. Winnie The Pooh (... what? That was awesomley nostalgic, great 2D animation and funny with the simplistic plot Pooh is known for but not the simplstic plot that would annoy you. I guess you guys didn't see it but trust me there was a GOOD Kids movie this summer).

    4. X-Men: First Class (There's more interesting characters, good jokes and an enjoyable plot. The ending isn't the best and it could of tied better into the other X-Men movies but it's defintley the best of the five flicks of the movie franchise)

    5. Captain America: The First Avenger (the first two scenes werne't that good but the rest was enjoyable and yeah at times campy superhero fun but that's honestly what I expected from Captain America and yeah Chris Evans defintley portrayed the most likeable and enjoyable main super hero I've seen on screen).

    Worst.

    1. Spy Kids 4: All The Time In The World (Probably the worst movie I've ever seen. I liked parts of the first three but HATED pretty much of all this and I didn't even see it in 3D or *shudders* smellavision which would probably make me dislike it even more).

    2. The Smurfs (True the Smurfs is a horrible and annoying movie but I didn't find it as bad as Spy Kids 4. And also watching the show again it does not really hold up when you're an adult and though the movie's probably more embarassing I'd consider the two equally as mindless).

    3. Harry Potter And The Deathly Hollows Part 2 (I don't know why everyone's praising this movie and this comes from someone who did like Movie 5 a lot. This one was very boring IMHO and had a very anti climatic end and dosen't have nearly the amount of action people keep saying it does).

    4. Bad Teacher (this one had a few laughs but wasn't nearly as funny as I thought it would be as they didn't take nearly as many risks as they could of. Even the Change Up gave me more laughs then this turkey).

    5. Thor (though not terrible the weakest of the super hero movies IMHO. Yes even weaker then Green Lantern as this was cheesy in all the bad ways and there seemed to be a lot more pointless scenes and characters then even the GL movie had. Plus the most forciest forced romance out of all foricest forced romances. Again IMHO).

Still nice list of the summer guys. And though Jake is great at these negatives reviews try and cut him a break next summer and give him only one really horrible movie and let someone else shoulder more of the kids movies so he can see more of the flicks he wants to. Though yeah his anger is defintley the funniest part of this video addmitingly.

I'm not pointing and laughing, Jake.

I salute you for making the sacrifice few of us would want to make. You sat through THE WORST god-damned movies this summer and THEN you also sat through Transformers 3.

I had to endure Transformers 3 at the Drive-In. At least the cool thing about that was I only paid $5 to see it.

But I was SO MAD after Transformers 3 ended that I didn't even stick around for "Super 8" and I'm still mad at J. J. Abrams for fucking up the "Star Trek" franchise which again I went to see at the Drive-In. I didn't want to be 0 for 2 when it comes to J. J. Abrams at the Drive-In.

I made up for my summer with "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" which I noticed NO ONE had any comments on. Not even Sarah, and she was most impressed with how the apes were using flanking maneuvers.

I thought Planet of the Apes was a beautiful movie. It sounds cliched, I realize, but this movie had me crying when John Lithgow's character passed away as it was very eerily like watching my own father pass away.

And then you want to cry again at the end, but for joy this time when Caesar climbs the tree and the view of San Francisco and the music tells us that Earth has a NEW dominant species. Andy Serkis BETTER win an Academy Award(R) for his role as Caesar or I will send Jerrid to someone's house in Hollywood in the middle of the night.

could honestly recommend that if you went to see Rise of the Planet of the Apes, you could then watch the 1968 original with Charleton Heston and it all makes perfect sense.

My second most fun movie was Captain America which when you get two movies for $5 is an awesome bargain compared to ONE Michael Bay-Platinum Turd 3-D movie for over $10.

Captain America was a FUN movie, and Tommy Lee Jones was awesome with his hilarious lines. Marvel is setting up something awesome for their coming "Avengers" movies, but I wish they didn't replace Edward Norton with MARK RUFFALO??? as Bruce Banner. Edward Norton WAS Banner and you got the sense this was the SAME Banner from the Bill Bixby show. But Mark Ruffalo??? *sigh*

My WORST movie is Transformers 3. And I think that when the Midnight Screening Crew lists what their worst movie of the summer was, Transformers 3 shouldn't even count as a movie and it's automatically it's own bad movie of the summer.

The sad part is, I drove all the way out to the drive-in wanting to see Green Lantern, even after how Brad said it was a bad movie, I was still kinda
interested. But when I get there, nope, that had to be the Wednesday that Transformers 3 opened and the drive-in switched movies.

It was either Transformers 3 or Cars 2 on the second screen. Why didn't I pick Cars 2? WHY?

For what it's worth, I loved pretty much every single one of the Midnight videos this summer. Brad (of course), Virtual Boyd, and Jake pretty much made every one of the videos they appeared in all summer, though that's not to say I disliked anybody.

Looking forward to whatever any of you guys do in the future.
