The Radiodrome song is from a very, very good 80s film if I'm not mistaken. Probably a Cronenburg affiliated one.

I don't want to spoil anything though...

I disagree. Tom Cruise was very good in "A Few Good Men," which was also a very good movie. He was also good in "Born on the 4th of July," which is a somewhat crappy, boring movie. "Interview with the Vampire" is just gay porn masquerading as a mainstream horror film, as was "Legend" (I haven't seen either film). "Top Gun" was also borderline gay porn. "A Few Good Men" sounds like a gay porn movie, as does "The Firm." "Rain Man" had gay undertones.

I think these need to be mirrored on a secondary source. I've tried downloading these at various times since yesterday and I still can't get a decent speed. Even just tossing up a link on something like Mediafire could help a lot of people out.

I agree, that we can blame the director.

I think he was just saying that IF you do not blame smith for Cop Out, THEN you also cannot blame Burton for Alice.

i.e., you can blame BOTH or you can blame NEITHER. but not one or the other

        Personally, I would blame both.

Of course, I am not a Kevin Smith fan at all. I really think he is overrated and pathethic. Sure I can respect Clerks, but I definitely think most of his work falls closer to Cop Out than Clerks.

As for Burton, I also think he is overrated, he has made a few good movies, but is not all that great.

Wikipedia says there are around 23 Three Musketeer movies, a few TV series, and a few things based on the sequels to the Three Musketeers. Though it is not the most reliable source, it gets close a good portion of the time.

Yea, it's a well tapped source for sure.

However, although not really well known in the west, I think the grand daddy of re-used stories in movies is that of Wong Fei-Hong. He was a famous doctor and martial artist in China, and they've made several hundred movies about it. Pretty much every major Hong Kong action star has played him at one point. Jackie Chan did in the Drunken Master movies, and Jet Li did in the Once Upon a Time in China films. But They've been doing movies about him about as long as China has been making movies.

"Journey to the West" is also quite popular to remake in Asian film, too.

Zach Snyder is one of those directors I consider to have had anything to give up to begin with.

Agree about Ridley Scott. First three films were MASTERPIECES, Thelma & Louise was decent, but then pretty much descended into soulless hackery later on. Gladiator is one of the most overrated, badly filmed and conceived pieces of shit I've ever seen, Hannibal has no reason to exist, Black Hawk Down was an inane propaganda piece, and Robin Hood, fucking Robin Hood... Matchstick Men and American Gangster were OK I guess but anyone could have directed those basically, not much of a directorial personality behind them.

I heard he was set to direct the adaptation of Blood Meridian but dropped out I guess. That would've been exciting news back in the 80s, but today, I'm glad he's not doing it. Then again, I don't know who's at the helm of it now but it's probably not much better.

Fortunately, Christopher Nolan doesn't seem like a kind of director that will give up anytime soon. No matter how many Batman movies he can direct or just produce, he'll still make movies his way.

Josh, how could you not like Life on Mars?! What's wrong with a crime show that takes place in the seventies, has brilliant acting, an awesome style of writing, AND a kick ass soundtrack. Are you saying it's not as good as the UK version or do you just not like either of them? I love how much more gritty the UK version is, but the humor in the US version actually works unlike most TV shows today. I think it's a shame that it was only meant to be a mini-series while CSI probably has like 10 more seasons scheduled. Seriously, why do people like the CSI shows so damn much? The protagonists are the most unlikeable characters I've ever seen, the build-up is always more boring than fucking Dragnet (which I would rather watch than CSI), and the climax is always unsatisfying. Almost every character in Life on Mars is a real three-dimensional person. BTW, Harvey OWNS every scene he's in. One of the best characters I've ever seen him play: a tough whiskey-drinking cop who'll beat the shit out of you if you don't cooperate. I highly recommend both versions of Life on Mars to anyone who likes suspenseful cop showa. Honestly Josh, how many episodes have you seen? Do you like the show, Brad?
