Brad Tries Japanese Kit Kats
Did a lot of work on the script for the snob movie last weekend, so I took a few days off from writing. In the meantime though, Jillian joins me in trying out some different varieties of Japanese Kit Kat flavors, which include Cheese, Wasabi, and more.

I was recently in Japan and got a bunch of those types of Kit-Kats...the only ones I actually enjoyed were Green Tea. My tastes are finnicky.
I also tried to bring back as many weird beverages as possible, including pouches (yes, pouches) of a popular energy drink called "Body Keep Jelly". I'd be more than willing to donate to a "Brad Tries..." if you're interested.

lol very nice way to end my day sir. Loved this one...since its something I have indeed tried. I have to ask, Living on Cape Cod we have our yearly fair...and they have deep fried corn, deep fried Klondike Bars.I know right!? And to top it off Deep fried Kit-Kat bars as well as deep fried bubble gum. Thoughts?

The way it sounds by ya'll's description some of those might have Lathender(Lavender however it's spelt) the same ingredent as some soaps. It's eatible and is normally added to foods to give it a smoother feel and taste.
I'd thought there'd been a Red Bean Past flavored one on here or something. I'd try the cheese ones they sound ineresting!
Also, I think ya'll should make Brad wear that MLP T-shirt for our enjoyment! Bwahahahahahaaahh!!

The first one with the hat is "daigaku imo"-flavoured (http://d.nestle.jp/kitkat/limited/kk_mini_daigaku_imo_13.html). Google tells me that's a snack made from fried sweet potatoes dipped in molasses... no wonder it tasted weird.
The Halloween-themed one is caramel pudding, and the wasabi-like one is zunda-flavoured (http://d.nestle.jp/kitkat/limited/kk_zunda_2.html). Zunda, apparently, is a paste made from unripe soy beans eaten in Tohoku... no wonder it tasted like wasabi.
I never got around to say this on any of the other Brad tries where you ate Japanese stuff, but if you ever need help identifying anything, I'd be more than glad to help. Googling stuff in Japanese is about my only useful skill

There was a Tiramisu Kitkat here in the UK called "kitkat editions" that tasted amazing, almost spot on for the desert. if it tasted like cheese then it seems the Japanese will eat anything as long as it has a european label on it.

Brad, I feel your balding pain..just use volumizing shampoo instead of soap and always soak your head with cold water when you get out of the shower. The cold water makes the hair follicles clench after being opened up from warm shower.

Doooooood, Brad, don't say that this is an episode of "I took the week off of writing" man, I come to this site every other day looking for brad tries episodes. I'm typing this before I even watched your kit kat episode, but I've been to Narita Japan airport, and dammit dude, I saw kit kats flavors there that do not occur to the sane mind.
And here you are, reviewing them. I couldn't ask for more, and prior to this episode, I'd come to this site and wonder if you're done with brad tries! Buddy, screw writing, it never did the world any good! Take a break and try stuff more often!!

The first bag you opened looks like "black forest torte," not tiramisu, & the other picture was definitely "flan." Tiramisu has visible "ladyfingers" in the layers.

The Halloween one says "Kyarameru Purin," so caramel + purin; a custard pudding.
The cheese one is supposed to be camembert; be glad it doesn't smell like it.

That and the fact tiramisu does in fact contin the filling made of mascarpone, witch is tehnically a cheese. Tiramisu does hoveven not taste like chesse.

The hat one is called Fight! A pun on KitKat meaning "I'll surely win" in Japanese.
The bar is indeed Sweet Potato flavour.
Halloween is more Flan or Caramel Pudding as the box says. Melty from the physical exertion of opening the packages. I hope.

Honestly, Japanese special flavors tend to taste the same, vanilla-y and soap-y, like Brad and Jillian said. But, the one flavor I do like is the Kit Kat Noir. It's basically dark chocolate Kit Kat and it is heaven, especially in the big bar form.

Tiramisu involves a good amount of custard, mascarpone, lady fingers, coffee, and rum.

Seriously though, it's good. It's got a light delicate flavor that's slightly sweet and a little bit, it combines flavors of rum, coffee, and cocoa in small amounts with a light whipped (topping and lady fingers. It's also surprisingly easy to make. The mascarpone cheese on top is closer (but not quite) in flavor and texture to what you expect cream to be.

I almost died when Spoony drank the cherry the second time and it overflowed. It almost looked like he had thrown up in it. Linkara's face at the end also cracked me up.

The tiramisu/black forest torte flavored Kit Kat is indeed supposed to be tiramisu. The package says ”ティラミス味” Here is another package of the same flavor.

That being said, tiramisu in Japan is pretty disappointing. It's often made with spongecake and too little rum. I'm not surprised the the kit kats weren't great.
The flan pudding is the standard pudding in Japan. A plainish egg pudding that is usually steamed in cups and topped with burnt caramel sauce. Google image search for "プリン".

I'm sure I'm not the first to bring this up, but kudos to your wife for the Pinkie shirt. Maybe you'll do a video about MLP in the near-future? And I've had the green tea flavored Kit Kats; they taste a bit like coffee but are still good (I don't like coffee).
