No, the Chicago ghostbusters were the ones who wanted to work with Spoony, and that's why he got so excited about doing something with the Phoenix ghostbusters, but they were the ones who dissed him. At least, that's how I remember.

IDK...I honestly think that getting the Ghostbusters to do the end of the FFX review probably would've ended up being really corny or lame...I personally think that it was more fitting, and funnier, to do the classic Star Trek beam-back-together. I mean, even in the continuity of the Spoony-verse, that plot-line makes FAR more sense than "calling the Ghostbusters" would....although you no longer really get the joke/refernce of Black Lantern Spoony being dead, or, a ghost...
You know, come to think of it, he should've put scarlett or possibly the nostalgia chick to "send" BL like Yuna would've.....but IDK how they could've made that funny...oh well. lol!

There is much Snob in 80's Dan in this video. I really loved the ghost busters reference. But i really think we should have seen more of the consequences of Brad's/Dan's line towards Jillian in the end - "seen" in the sense that we heard violent things.

Yes. I know that Dick Warlock played Myers in Halloween II. That's why Dolly said that Dick Warlock played Myers in Halloween II. I got the character wrong because he's credited as playing "assassin," so I simply thought it was the hospital assassin because he was by himself. I'm re-editing it now to take out the line.

What blows me away is that the guy who played Michael Myers in the original Halloween (Nick Castle) went on to direct The Last Starfighter! In addition to that he was in John Carpenter's band The Coupe de Villes, who performed the song "Big Trouble in Little China". He's the one singing the high part. Michael Myers!

Awesome! I'm always happy to see more love for this underrated chapter in the Halloween franchise. I also wonder what would have happened if this one had been a success and we wouldn't have been plagued with more awful Michael Myers Halloween films. The idea of a yearly anthology series of horror films sounds great. That's why I wish Trick 'R Treat's sequel would have happened.
I've always been a huge fan of this film, and am glad that more people are starting to feel that way about it. I just recorded it the other day during AMC's Monster Fest. Can't wait for the planned Blu-Ray release at some point.

Awesome, Halloween III: Season of the Witch is one of my favorite guilty pleasure horror movies. The funny thing is last night I actually got bored and looked it up on wiki and read up all the info ya'll discussed here. The hidden homages to the 1st 2 movies and the old cliché's of old 50s-60s Sci-Fi horror films.
I thought Brian's costume was Cher for some reasons!

I do kind of hope to see a remake of this movie someday as the original script had some different things in it that they changed because the producers wanted something more science-fictiony! I love how ya'll can hate a movie franchise so much but still go out and buy a toy or action figure from it. Well, ya'll hate-love Battlefield Earth and I can understand having a toy from it, but brad hates with a passion Transformers!
I actually liked all the Halloween sequels until H2O! Well, I like H2O but Resurrection sucked! Curse of Michael Myers most tend to ignore as it took the Myers mythos in a weird direction but I like the excuse they gave why Michael doesn't kill during any other month than October... he disappears into a puddle of slim... possibly into Hell till next Halloween!
I do gotta wonder of ya'll's thoughts on the long since canceled Helloween: Hellraiser vs Halloween crossover they were considering doing shortly after Freddy Vs. Jason but before they rebooted the Halloween franchise!?

I love Battlefield Earth so much. I have a very soft spot in heart for horrible movies that are so over the top bad that they're funny and entertaining. "Halloween III" though I legitimately feel is a great horror movie. The Bumblebee figure we bought specifically for this episode since it was the only robot at the store that worked for the episode, so that was something that we didn't own prior to the episode.

I have an ok appreciation for Battlefield Earth. I went to see it in theaters when it 1st came out and the part about that I remember most was I, my dad, and step-mom at the time were the only ones in the entire theater and this was opening day!
I love Halloween III 1st time I saw it was years ago on an AMC Halloween marathon and I at 1st thought they were playing the wrong movie. Because I bought some VHS tape once that was labe3l Halloween II and got home and it was some other movie called THE FEAR II: HALLOWEEN NIGHT the bastards!

I recently revisited Halloween III and I think this movie is great. This movie also makes have a new appreciation for Dan O'Herlihy.
Does ROB realize that he's got the body a Bumblebee toy that's made for 3 year olds?
Those androids were pretty cool.
I'm glad that we have good, wholesome episode of '80s Dan before we are subjected to the horrors of more E.T. pornos.

What a great Halloween week for me! Not only I'm watching some of the series, but also learning about them from Cinemassacre's Monster Madness 2011.
I too think 3 is pretty good. Maybe it'll come out on Blu-Ray pretty soon just like 2 recently released on that format. I would say what I think of the whole franchise, but I'll save it for James' Halloween round-up on Nov. 1st.
BTW, you guys should check out the Producer's Cut of Halloween 6 because it's the version that comes close to replicating the success of the first film.

The producer's cut of Halloween 6 IS better than the theatrical cut, mainly thanks to the extended scenes with Dr. Loomis, but it in no way "comes close to replicating the success of the first film." It lacks most of the huge flaws in the theatrical cut, but makes up for it with its own completely different flaws. Instead of death scenes that would seem cheesy for a Friday the 13th sequel, you get Michael being defeated by magic fucking rocks. Instead of a retconned backstory that makes no sense at all, you get one that makes only slightly more sense but includes Michael raping his niece. Either way you cut it, Halloween 6 was the worst thing to happen to the series until Rob Zombie, and that's including Busta "Trick or treat, motherfucker" Rhymes.
The closest I think any of the Michael-related sequels came to matching the quality of the original was Halloween 4. The kills were over the top and cheesy, but otherwise its the Terminator 2 of the Halloween series; a sequel that's pretty much a remake of the first, only done bigger.

Honestly, this review gave me a new outlook on this movie. I realize that the only thing I hated about this movie was the Silver Shamrock song, & that I still can't tell the difference between Jason & Michael Myers.

What can I say? I just love how this episode incorporates my entire childhood from Transformers, Ghostbusters, BSG, and of course, Sailor Moon.

H3 could have been awesome (and in canon) with the first two films if they made minor adjustments to the story...
If instead of killing the wearer and causing insects to appear, if the mask basically hypnotized all wearers into relentless killing machines, you could definitely tie this to the first two. Basically explaining that the mask Michael Myers wore when he killed his older sister in the beginning of the first one was a prototype brought home by Myers Sr who possibly worked for Shamrock.
Subtract the Halloween movie footage, make the androids more deeply hypnotized (and sophisticated) killing machines as opposed to random robots and this movie would have been an interesting story in universe which explains why Michael Myers is a relentless murder machine.

I also thought they could've easily did this and to tie them into together more the whole witchcraft thing that ran in both movie could be tied together! Or something along the lines that Myers was suppose to have sacrificed his whole family for the cult/coven and since he failed the guy took it upon his self to give the devil an even bigger sacrifice with his mask to make up for the failure of Myers!

Oh, man, I would kill for a girl who would dress up as Sailor Moon on Halloween! Well, almost had one, but she had issues. Anyway, great episode! I didn't know I wasn't the only one who thought this movie was the best Halloween sequel! Man, I wish this had taken off as an anthology franchise! I do recommend the anthology film Trick 'R Treat though. (2007) PS: I'm going to have to name drop TheCinemaSnob in my webcomic someday. I think that'd be fun.

Brad, a suggestion: if you want to make this show look more like a sitcom, you should film it from three static camera angles with no handheld camera angles. Otherwise great stuff.

Awesome episode of 80's Dan! I'm glad that this episode was a little longer than normal - just to do this great movie justice. That 37 minutes just flew by!
I started singing the Silver Shamrock song to my baby son while I would change his diapers. It always made him laugh. Now he makes me sing it to him almost everyday. He'll come up to me and start going "dun DUN dun DUN" (like the cheesy keyboard part) to indicate that it's time for me to sing it to him. I can't wait to show him this flick when he's older.

I kinda wanna watch this movie now, if only because I wanna judge for myself, though I'd probably agree with both Dan and the rest, in that it's a good stand alone movie, but calling it 'Halloween III' was a mistake, marketing-wise.

Halloween III always freaked me out. I mean, it's rare that a horror movie commits the mass murder of children in such a hideous way. I think the surrealism of the whole thing just got to me in an Accidental Nightmare Fuel sort of way.

This was a great episode! I'm not sure of how I feel about Halloween 3. To me, Michael Myers is the best serial killer in film history. Fuck Freddy and Jason, Michael Myers all the way!...I guess i'm an 80's child trapped in a 90's child's body. I need to give it another watch, I haven't seen it since I was in middle school. I think i may appreciate it more, now. Great work, as usual, Brad and Co.! ps. ROB is the man!

This is my absolute favorite halloween movie EVER! I mean to me it's just so silly and poses so many questions yet, it makes no attempt to cover it's own plot holes.It's a 50's style B that knows it's a 50's style B and revels in that fact.
