    2001 is actually great wathcing when you are drunk or high... you get much more out of the movie that way. I really like 2001, it gave mental images i cannot get out of my head. 2001 is a pretentious movie. But it is a pretentious movie which works,,, if you are high.

    But you forgot to bitch about BARRY LYNDON... that was the only kubrick movie i hate.

    Jerrid was correct when he called josh the cinema cynic, really made me laugh.

    The thing about Kubrick is that a lot of people who go on about him, really only like Clockwork Orange, The Shinning and Full Metal Jacket. Personally, I can live without 2001, don't think that Eyes Wide Shut is a finished film or is even really Kubrick. I love Barry Lyndon and think it fits with Clock Work Orange as a variant on the Rakes Progress idea and Kubrick's consistent theme of people unable to escape there conditioning. It's also stunning to look at, oddly moving and very funny in places.
