When you (specifically Josh) talk about Johnny Depp, you talk as though declining to talk about his personal past makes him a jerk. It doesn't. He's an actor first, his career is based on him acting, not giving a million interviews about whatever people want to know. He could do just fine for himself without doing interviews at all, and I wouldn't blame him if he went that route, given how much hassle is involved in being in the public eye. Depp makes no secret of the fact that he didn't like the teen idol image 21 JumpStreet gave him. Maybe he was having fun on the actual set (it'd be difficult to be that long on a TV show and not have some fun times here and there) but hated the public image that went with it. Whatever. The point is, he's entitled to not talk about whatever part of HIS personal past he damn well chooses. The problem is people claim celebrities as their property and assume that anything they do is relevant to the public. It's not; leave them the hell alone.

Totally agree with this. Josh is the type of guy who will say : "That woman claimed she was date raped, but I have a picture of her with her rapist at the party earlier that evening. And she's smiling! She was having a great time!"
On this show Josh and Brad accused Depp of being a jerk, but I worked on the Disney lot during the filming of some scenes of Pirates (They had a pirate ship atop the parking garage) and I heard Depp was nothing but nice. Reply to this

BTW, y'all mentioned Michael Rooker, and I'm thinking "who's that?" A half hour later, I happen to go to the Nerdist website and see the latest podcast (Dec. 20th) has an interview with Rooker. I recognized his picture right away. I imagine there aren't many interviews with him around, so horror movie buff and fans of underrated actors, there you go. http://www.nerdist.com/2011/12/nerdist-podcast-151-michael-rooker/ Reply to this

Wow, with leaps like that you could be an Olympic champ. Same sex marriage will lead to people marrying dogs and so on, thats the kind of leap you just made.
I have friends that worked with Depp on Public Enemies and they said he could not have been nicer. I never said he was a jerk, I said when people like him want to pretend that their early work is not there, that is the ACT of a jerk. When Depp's "people" have a rider for those interviewing him that if you even bring up Jumpstreet the interview is over, then he is being a jerk (and he has such a rider, 21 Jumpstreet if off limits as questions). He can choose to not talk about something, or you know, be HONEST about it and if he is ashamed of 21 Jumpstreet, then say so to the interviewer. Same thing with Danzig, if you even bring up The Misfits, the interview is over, thats bullshit and shows a huge ego. There are parts of my past I am not proud of but I am also not pretending they don't exist.
So to THOOM, next time you want to call me something, use actual logic and not leaps in logic like perhaps calling a movie star a jerk in a single instance to accepting date rape. Asshole. Reply to this

Okay, back in your corners, both of you. 1: Josh: It's Depp's right to control his interviews in this case. This isn't hard journalism we're talking about, and if he wants to avoid 21 Jumpstreet, in this particular "presser" type interview, it IS his right. Whether that's smart, or a good choice, or something you agree with, it IS his right. If this were an interview about him attacking a costar, or committing some crime, then we get into hard journalism, and he would have to face the music. In pressers through? He has some control.
THOOM: That WAS one hell of a logical jump. Perhaps not the best way to make your point, but I do see your side. Now both of you take a drink of water, and I'll get back to the bell. Reply to this
