I'll refrain from returning to the Tree of Life discussion and instead express agreement with Jake that Bridesmaids is kinda subpar. What doesn't work about it, though, is not so much any lack on the part of the leads - even Wiig, whose acting I thought was alright when it wasn't loud and abrasive - it's the fact that it never really finds its own identity. It tries to do the 40-year-old Virgin thing where it examines its particular dysfunctional lead character, but it doesn't have the maturity that made that movie really work. We're expected to take Wiig seriously as a businesswoman whose business failed due to the economy, rather than any lack on her part, yet the very same movie shows her running around, screaming, and pushing over tables in a giant temper tantrum that completely spoils the more adult aspects of the character that they tried to develop. It's kind of sad, since the movie had some fairly convincing female friendships, a relative rarity. Reply to this

Very good lists. Funny enough, the two best movies I've seen this year are Bridemaids and Harry Potter 7. The reason I like Bridesmaids so much is I thought it had a strong cast. More specifically, Melissa McCarthy stole the movie. The movie just worked for me. Then again, this year I've seen Prom, Monte Carlo, Cars 2, and Alvin and the Chipmunks 3. Basically, Bridesmaids, Harry Potter 7.5, and X-men First Class are the only good movies that I've seen this year. And thank you so much for including Cars 2 on the list Jake. My best friend showed me Cars 2 the other day and I knew what to expect because of Jake (Thank you) but the expierence was still very bad! I know that her kids love it, but they are 3 and 1... they don't know any better. But also I did watch it in between MUCH better Disney movies that day: Aladdin and Toy Story 2. So, yes kids movies don't have to be unintelligent to be enjoyed by kids. She also tried to play the Transformers movies to me (which I have successfully avoided) but I probably would've told her to fuck off, so thankfully she didn't push it However, I didn't find the Green Lantern to be that bad. Also, maybe re-dub a lot of lines and character the dialogue! As for the Boll movies I tend to like them as normally they so terrible they are funny! I haven't seen any of these mentioned here but I'd like to see In The Name of the King 2 since the 1st one was just such good cheese! It just so funny how a movie with so many well known and named actors in it is sooo forgotten and unseen! 3-1 Ok here's where I'll disagree... well I agree with everything Jake said but as for Brad's #2 I still can't agree with him on this one! I actually liked the Thing prequel. Probably because I've been waiting and wanting to see any kind of sequel to the Thing since the early 2000s! I'd been fallowing online the process of another Thing movie since it was conceived as a 4-6 hour long mini-series that would've air on the SciFi channel! Now I still think that would've been a better choice they could've really built up the suspense and tension and drama and horror over a longer period with the whole who is or is not the Thing! Well, all I gotta say is I personally enjoyed it and thought it was an ok movie not anywhere near as good as the 82 film but an ok complement! On Spy Kids my anger comes from the simple fact that Rodriguez dropped out of directing a Deadpool movie to do this movie instead and that pisses me off to no end! That's like if let's say instead of making Hugo Martin Scorsese made The Smurfs! As for Transformers I've already stated in an above comment that i think it'd be watchable if they cut out like 90% of LaPoof's scenes and re-dub all the robot voices! As for Smurf haven't seen it and NEVER will, but I still say Jake needs his own show where this is what he reviews nothing but this kinds of bad kid's films! I've even thought of a format in-which to do it! Well a good review I'd like to see is Jake watching that mini-CGI-movie on the Smurf DVD or Blu-Ray that's like a Christmas Carol parody! The Thing prequel was really, really bad. A CGI riddled old crapfest. It didn't even make sense. Why would Norway need to import US and British help? Fucking crap. And the flame throwers! There were more flame throwers on that base than were used in WWII. As for the idea that this was a prequel! It's just insulting. The fact is the Norwegian Camp in The Thing (82) was peopled by a handful of Norwegians, who were wiped out in about a day or so. It certainly didn't house the UN. There was no evidence that there was more than a dozen people there and they were filmed blowing the space ship up near the surface of flat ice, not in cave. There were also no flat screen computers in 82 and this steaming pile dung whole was virtually a remake of Alien v Predator, which stank in the first place. The people defending this travesty need a good talking too. Remove all the weird self indulgent parts and what you have is the story of a rich young girl abused by her step-father, locked into an insane asylum to shut her up after he kills her sister, and then she and everyone try to escape. All the action scenes are told from the perspective of someone who's grip on reality has been severely shaken by the physical and emotional abuse she has suffered from her step-father and the corrupt staff and the ENTIRE thing is pretty much her life flashing before her eyes before she is lobotomized and it is all erased forever. Jake in 2011 putting "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2" on his worst movies list = Spoony in 2010 putting "Tron Legacy" in his worst movies list.
As a hardcore Harry Potter fan (someone who has read all of the books, seen all of the movies, goes to Harry Potter conventions and has written Harry Potter fanfiction), I really feel as insulted and hurt as Tron fans felt back in 2010. And I, too, feel like Jake is uncessarily bashing a movie just because he couldn't get into it, much like Spoony did with "Tron Legacy".
I'm sorry, but my personal opinion of Jake has lowered considerably. I kept watching Spoony's videos because he is talented and funny enough to give him a second chance, but Jake has NOWHERE near as much cred to have that privilege.

I'm a dedicated admirer of the abstract and esoteric in cinema, though personally I don't much care for Terrence Malick. I think we have similar thoughts, in that he knows how to be spectacular with visuals and editing but handles dialogue very awkwardly. But I certainly don't find him deplorable. It depends on what someone views a movie for I suppose. I view a film for its atmosphere, imagery, style, and to feel like I'm in another strange world or seeing an artist's personal vision, as I would a photographer, painter, or musician. And that's it. I don't watch something like this to get off on symbolism (as your Snob character occasionally mimics). The fun of a film, I believe, is NOT to understand it. That's why David Lynch is such a cult icon. His movies are mysterious and weird and that's what makes them cool to get lost in (I'm not a big Lynch fan either, but that's for another day).
So that's why I enjoy many films in that style (if not Tree of Life itself). Not because I'm a self-important wankjar, but because I dig a good, odd-feeling, otherworldly experience with little regard for coherence. If you watch film for character development and narrative coherence, that's perfectly fine too. Ya dig?
But hey, I also dig Lucio Fulci and Jean Rollin. That's why I hate the term "art film" in the first place. It totally acts like there is no artistry in genre filmmaking, which is bull.

The movie was terrible, by all accounts. Even if Leonard Nimoy (who I like) likes it (which I don't know if he does, but for the sake of argument let's assume he does), I still hate it.
I think that we should ok, not with the movie, but with the fact that Leonard Nimoy chose to be in the movie. It's his life, his decision, his free will.
We should also be cool with the fact that that line was used. After all, again, it does not take away from the original line.
I also am cool with the movie itself existing. Yes, I hate it as much as Brad and Jake, but I can allow Michael Bay his freedom to make this film, the actors to freely choose to be in, and retarded people to freely chooes to watch and like it. Thing that REALLY sucked about Tree of Life is that it didn't offer any breathing room. Kubrick and Lynch allow breathing room that makes their artsy films not even slightly pretentious. You can act like the ending of 2001 is pretentious but the scenes with HAL9000 is seriously good stuff that doesn't force you into an awkward position.
Tree of Life feels DIZZY, and almost like you're having a seizure. It doesn't offer breathing room. Too much noise going on, too much narration, not enough scenes of just calm things. Everybody has to be insane and everything has to be artistic. The best artistic moments in movies are usually also the most memorable. In The Shining, the scene where he talks to Delbert Grady doesn't have scary music over it, it doesn't have narration. It's just two people talking, and it's quiet and intense and amazing. Now imagine if that scene had a bunch of cuts away to random crap, poetic narration over it, and cinematography that never really gives you a good look at the people or what they're doing. That's Tree of Life. An artistic attempt with utter failure as a result, an editing, and dare I say cinematography mess (sure, the special effects were cool, but too many scenes that were just ugly to look at), with no plot that is worth paying attention to. Tell you what, you should get MY cut of the film, where it's just the special effect scenes without any noise. That will help you out. Reply to this

The Transformers movie franchise had the bad habit of treating its Decepticon leaders rather poorly.
TF1: Megatron is introduced in the third act and then dies at the end of the movie.
TF2: Megatron is rebuilt into a freak and then subordinate to a poorly conceived villain called "The Fallen".
TF3: Megatron is in most of the movie, but is, again, subordinate to another Transformer, although this time not by choice.
Then there's the complete waste of a character called Shockwave. Rather than use him as some sort of genius/badass, he's just there to pilot the ship that has worm/drill thingy.
Now there's a sequence that went on for too long. Shockwave stands on a platform while this drill machine slowly tears apart a skyscraper. And all that just to kill Sam? Really? No. Of course not.

Even when it's not kid-appealing stuff per se, it's always something that many people experienced as kids. And name recognition includes not only sequels and adaptations and so on, but also people, and especially directors. Rodriguez wants to be, as Plinkett put it, "the real guy who's revolutionizing filmmaking technology." I'll even bet it's the reason that they let him have Sin City. That microscopic annoyance aside, I honestly like Sucker Punch. That said, I can also see what you two mean when you say that there's "nothing there". But in spite of that last point, I still like it. I don't really expect it to have a solid, resounding message, I'm just watching it for the sake of seeing the pretty visuals.
Unfortunately, I have a soft spot for the Transformers Trio. Granted, I do have issue with quite a few things in all three, but I still like them none the less. Maybe it's because I'm just so in love with the franchise as a whole that I'm willing to look beyond the flaws to see what I want to see. I like how the 'bots are designed, and I like the voice casting. Really, one of the only major problems I have with the series is that the robots aren't even the main characters of their own movies. The 'bots (Autobots and Decepticons alike) are pushed to the wings in favor of seeing Sam Witwicky flail around, stammer and scream. And that's a big let-down for the movies.
Overall, I agreed with most of what you guys said in regard to what was wrong with the movies on your list. Of course, being busy as I was this summer, I couldn't see all of them. They know that taste is personal and know how to have fun, without caring about what critics or fans think, and they'll mention that people are free to agree or disagree with them without making their audience feel like lesser beings. If you take anything they say as a personal insult, that's your own problem. I like Spoony, but its funny you defend him when he actually straight up tells people that their tastes are terrible when they don't agree with him. Reply to this

I agree with ya'll for the most part even though I haven't seen most of what ya'll mentioned here!
I got to disagree though on Harry Potter(I haven't seen it yet but love the franchise) and Green Lantern as I personally liked it and don't get what people hate about it! I understand the monster was poorly designed but I chalk that up to Hollywood's love of smoke creatures!
As for Sucker Punch I haven't seen it or plan on seeing it because of the plot! When it was being marketed at 1st I thought it looked cewl as it looked like a modern trippy Wizard of Oz or Alice in Wonderland style story!
As for Priest I was wantinfg to see it when I heard it was being made then I found out how much they bastardized the book!

Aw, come-on!
Sucker-Punch was awesome BECAUSE it was self-indulgent!

I love the movie because of how indulgent it is
And I do respect his opinion, it's just that he dislikes it for the same reasons why I love it
Reply to this
Fair enough, I see where you are coming from.
I do think that self-indulgence for its own sake can be good - I mean, look at how much a lot of people here like exploitation films. I love those things.
I just felt in Sucker Punch that it was a false self-indulgence. I don't really know how to phrase what I mean, because I am the kind of person who enjoyes self-indulgence for no reason at all, but I still did not like the movie.

It'd be more in line with the ethos of the film to suggest that he looked like he'd just gotten his smurf pushed in.

My mom kept saying, "but it's a kids movie." I hate that logic, because there have been kids movies that I do like. Disney is proof of that.
Reply to this
YES! I was waiting for this! I love Jake, he is awesome.
As for the movies...
I agree with Jake on Cars 2 and Bridesmaids. Bridesmaids seemed like it was trying to be The Hangover with women, but it just turned out to be two hours of Wiig going "whine, whine, whine."
She also tried to play the Transformers movies to me (which I have successfully avoided) but I probably would've told her to fuck off, so thankfully she didn't push it
However, I didn't find the Green Lantern to be that bad. I agree mostly with Linkara's review of the movie.
But great job Brad and Jake! I was just laughing my ass of at 3 in the morning watching you guys (my neighbors must think I am nuts!) and I look forward to more of all of you in 2012!

I totally agree with ya'll on these 100%!
To me Transformers 3 could be an ok/passable movie if someone could take it and re-edit it and cutout all the lame, unfunny, pointless to the overall story scene with Shia LaButtfuck into a Renegade style cut!
To me it's like as you put it on the sequel like an Asylum movie just in this case like the Asylum's Lord of the Rings! Also, Spoony's rant/review of BloodRayne 3 was funny as hell!
As for Cars 2 I hate it on the fact that a shitty Pixar movie like it got a sequel and yet The Incredibles one of the best Pixar and one of the best Super Hero movies out there has not got a sequel yet! But on a good note it's rumored that they're suppose to be working on a script for a possible sequel in the near future!

There are plenty of 4th movies that are great!
-Rocky IV
-Bride Of Chucky
-Thunderball wasn't one of the best Bonds, but I'll include it 'cos the series is like, um, a "still good after a few sequels" type...

The fourth Rambo was pretty good, especially since it all but ignores 2 & 3.

Isn't Rocky IV known for being the goofiness, a guilty pleasure at best?
I dislike all the Chucky films, I find them neither funny nor scary, probably because I never understood the reason people think dolls are scary in general. It's odd I like these films so little, I have incredibly low standards for horror films to make me like them. The motherfucking Puppet Master series, on the other hand, is awesome.
Can't argue with Bond.
You did forget an instance where the 4th film is considered the best overall by most people:
Friday the 13th IV: The Final Chapter
Also:
Death Wish IV
Sudden Impact
Phantasm IV: Oblivion

Brad: Responding to the first video clip about the green lantern. Green Lantern was not a good movie.... i just dont get why you feel that him visiting his nephew is a plot-error. I really dont think it was (i watched the movie yestoday finally). The scene in my mind was to show that he had a family, but he was astranged from them and that he lived his life too fast.
But then again, that is ofcourse just my opinion.

Ok here's where I'll disagree... well I agree with everything Jake said but as for Brad's #2 I still can't agree with him on this one!
Or Jack and Jill as that was the number one worst movie on every one else's list I've seen on youtube! XD
Reply to this
Suckpunch is the number one worst movie for me this year.
Sadly since I haven't seen many bad ones the others are things Like Season of the Witch, Green Hornet, Paul, and Red Riding Hood but i can see why you picked the movies you did.
I actually hate Sucker Punch even more now because I recently watched Brazil and upon realizing that both movies end the fucking same I then realized how much better brazil was.
Especially since it can actually PULL off the stupid ending.
I actually angers me when people say "Oh come on it's pretty to look at and has fan service." Despite being a girl I am perfectly capable of enjoying things with fan service... Not Sucker Punch though.

As a norwegian I don't agree with The Thing, but it seems you have covered the lowest of the low in the rest of the two lists.
My biggest issue with The Thing was the need of haveing women on the base (even if one of them is Ramona Flowers). BAsically I don't see the need for americans at the base at all. The ending was unusual, but actually rational, so that actually was a plus. But basically I loved the characters from Seim and Langhelle, and they really saved the experience.

haha, did anyone else notice that Scre4m was listed as being "Br6d"'s sixth worst movie?

The Thing prequel was really, really bad. A CGI riddled old crapfest. It didn't even make sense. Why would Norway need to import US and British help? Why would their top scientist then listen to an American girl who looks about 22 years-old and who's scientific expertise seems to consist prodding stuff, whilst looking pensive, OK she's cute, but no way would the Norwegians need her there and even if they did she would be a junior assistant collecting ice samples at best.
No wonder Hollywood keeps churning out crap. Honestly it's a fucking abysmal film, like something the Asylum would reject as too derivative and not having good enough effects.Very cute actress, but shit, shit, shit movie

Only going to comment on Suckerpunch... really I don't disagree with you at all. I'll just tell you what it is sort of about. The ending is basically her picturing whoever the fuck it was who actually escaped having a happy ending with the recurring guardian angel character.

I haven't seen Scream 4 but I didn't care for Scream 3, but Whelshy's review has at least convinced me to watch it someday and give it a shot!
Green Lantern I liked and still don't get people's overwhelming hate for it! Yes, it could've been better but that can be said about anything!
Harry Potter 7 The Deathly Hallows Part 2 I haven't seen yet but I like the franchise and will gladly watch it as soon as I see part 1 which I've still yet to see! Maybe watch them both back to back on DVD one weekend!
Transformers Dark of the Moon i'm just basically neutral on for the most part as I think it was ehhh... at best and think it could've been a lot better if they just cutout some of the bad humor and Shia scenes and had more to do with either the Robots or the human military team that works with them! I think the lead soldier dude the one that had the wife and newborn baby in the 1st movie would've been a lot more relatable and likable main human character than a whinny spoiled middle-class white kid with the most annoying parents alive! I'd liked his parents more if they were the stereo-typical broken family from 80s movies where the dad is either an alcoholic and/or dead and the mom is at work all the time and when is around is kind of bitchy! But, to tell the truth I liked the Wreckers in the movie!

Whatever the case, I really do think "Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star" is going to win Worst Film of 2011 at the upcoming Razzies, with "Jack and Jill" being the second runner up. Also, Brad and Jake, I highly recommend Mission Impossible 4. The scene where Tom Cruise is climbing up the side of the Burj Khalifa is all real. No CGI. He's really performing a stunt where he's over 100 stories up in the air.
Reply to this
Well there was some CGI in the sense that they digitally removed his safety ropes.

now the ONLY thing I've seen Kristen Wiig in is the new Looney Toons Show where she plays the newest (and I feel very much improved) incarnation of Lola Bunny and I really like her there, so I must ask what is it about Wiig that Brad and others find so detestable?
Reply to this
She's not funny.
Reply to this
I think it's also her complete and utter lack of any sense of comedic timing. As much as I loved the film Paul, she was painfully out of place next to skilled comedic actors like Pegg and Frost, who speak their lines so effortlessly, and she just felt like an actor reading a script. The little CGI alien felt more real than she did.
Reply to this
I guess I'm just not going to quite get why she's so disliked until I see her in something else.
I think the reason Wiig works as Lola is because she's not funny. In that series, Lola's whole shtick is that she's vapid and annoying, and that everything she says and does is groanworthy. Humor is then derived from the reactions of other characters.

Let me sum it up as best as I can:
From now on, I'm sticking with Brad and Brad alone.
Reply to this
I agree. How DARE Jake have a different opinion than me!!

Your Insulted because someone didn't like a movie that you do? and it's not like Jake was as unforgivable to Harry Potter as he was to his other picks. Plus why would someone disliking a movie you like be an insult? there's always gonna be people who dislike films a lot of other people like some because it's not their taste(Like Jake) and others just to be annoying, Jake didn't put Harry Potter on is list to piss people off he did because the only other movie he saw that wasn't god awful was X-Men:First class, and since he really liked that movie, Harry Potter got the 10 spot.

Whether you agree with them or not, it's just entertaining to watch Brad and any of his friends talk about movies. I mean Brad liked the freaking nightmare on elm street remake -doesn't mean I'm gonna stop watching him. Don't take their opinions so personally.

So, as a Potter fan, you liked the last one? Even though it gutted so many great character moments (especially Neville and Kreacher) so they could have Harry fly around the castle for no reason and Voldemort's big death scene got scrapped so he could burst into confetti? They screwed the pooch, given how great the book's ending was.

I am probably as big a fan of Harry Potter as you, and I am completely mystified why SOMEONE ELSE NOT LIKING THE MOVIE insults and hurts you.
I personally DO NOT GIVE A FUCK what anyone in the world thinkgs of Harry Potter, besides me. If I was the ONLY ONE IN THE WORLD who liked it, I would not be insulted.
Seriously, what's wrong with you?
And Tron Legacy does suck imo btw.

I feel insulted because calling the movie bad is one thing. Putting it in a "worst movies of the year" list and having it share space with abominations like "The Smurfs" and "Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chip-Wrecked" is another thing entirely.
The movie may be flawed, it may not be everyone's cup of tea, but calling it "one of the worst movies of the year" is exaggerating.

Jake didn't like ALvin and the Chipmunks? What a bastard! It's a triumph, an artistic colossus that will live on long after this so-called Jake, is pushing up daisies in an unmarked paupers grave. And as for the Smurfs? Well clearly it's better than Apocalypse Now! The man is obviously one of those idiots, who doesn't understand films unless they "entertain" him. And his eyes are too close together. Always a bad sign, when a chap's eyes can see more of the bridge of his own nose than things put in front of them. No wonder he can't spot genius,

Honey, if you're honestly feeling insulted that someone put Deathly Hallows Part 2 in the same list as Smurfs, I think you need to readjust your priorities.
Your knee-jerk reaction to this is just silly: you're getting mad at someone you don't even know because he's simply saying his opinion.
It's fine to disagree with someone, but to feel insulted over a piece of entertainment because someone put it in a "worst films of" list?
That's just silly.
Reply to this
Especially when he goes out of his way to say that it was only because Harry Potter was not to his taste. I know it may be difficult to see through the fanboy haze, but if, hypothetically, I were not a fan of Harry Potter, or were only a fan of the books, Deathly Hallows Part 2 does not stand up as a great cinematic experience.
But all that's beside the point, and the point is that saying that you are "hurt and insulted" over someone disliking it is preposterous. Especially when you go on to call people trolls for questioning the sanctity of your opinions. Take a deep breath and try to take this in some perspective: some people will disagree with you. They might even have a good reason for it.

anyways thanxs for a long ass one this year. next year i'd love to see Jake do it again with you. maybe add Brian to the mix as well. & i wish Jake was on here more as well. he's not used enough i don't think. & though i haven't seen "Smurf's" yet. i doubt i'd try to be a smart ass if i see how pissed off he is. but i live in ohio NOT springfield.
anyways thanxs for a LOT of laughs.

WHY do people always think i'm joking or something? That is my serious list. Of all the movies I've seen this year, those are the best and worst. And yes, I feel that Super 8 Was absolute dull, boring SHIT.
Reply to this
Apparently I somehow wrote 'Death Proof' instead of 'Drive Angry' on my best of list. Not sure why I did that.
Reply to this
Also, with the exception of I Am Number 4 and Cars 2, I saw all of these in theaters. Transformers, I saw in theaters 3 times.
And WHY do people keep calling Skids and Mudflap from part 2 racist? There wasn't a dman thing racist about them!
Reply to this
Skids and Mudflap were broad stereotypes, but I don't think they were racist either, and I HATE Transformers 2. They were about the only good things in that movie, because they actually had nice dialogue scenes with each other and the human characters.
Reply to this
Probably because your list is about as boring as Death Proof.
Reply to this
No, Death Proof is a great movie too. I don't know why people dislike it. I went to Grindhouse expecting to love Planet Terror and hate Death Proof, and it wound up being the opposite.

Thing is, I'm not trying to piss people off. I just happen to have different taste than, apparently, most people.
If I was TRYING to piss people off, I'd just say "YOU ARE STUPID, THE MOVIES YOU HATE ARE GREAT"! No, everyone's entitled to their opinion. I'm not gonna get pissed because my favorite vlogger spent half a feature-length video hating on movies I liked.
I also admit that a lot of my love for Transformers comes from the fact that I just love Transformers in general. I'm not a neutral party. I'm already biased towards Transformers.

To be honest, I have no idea why people are so mad that Jake has a different opinion than them...It's ok to hate certain movies.
Having said that, I really liked Harry Potter and thought Sucker Punch was only mediocre at best. Credit to Brad for mentioning the fact that it didn't need a secret meaning as I felt the exact same way after watching it.
Also, am I the only person who actually liked Spy Kids 1 and 2? I admit 3 was a piece of crap and there probably wouldn't be a chance that I see 4...

just think; with the rerelease of star wars episode 1, you could throw that on the list for next year.

Totally agreed. IMO Hayden Christensen was far worst than anything in Phantom Menace.

Well, I did enjoy him in Episode III. It's like somewhere between the two movies, he learned to act.

Civil Tree of Life comment:
But I digress. Peace.

These videos have made me appreciate Brad as a reviewer more than ever before. All throughout, he provided plenty of well rounded and thought out criticisms. The other guy said little more than "URRRGH, FUUUUCK, SO BAD!" about each movie that comes up. The only significant points about his movies usually came from Brad's interjections. It was fun to see the frustration and hyperbole in the initial reaction videos this summer, but it doesn't look like he really had much to add in this "worst-of" list.
...and that's how you take something too seriously, folks!

I agree that Transformers 3 was the worst movie of the year, and probably of the last 10 years, it sucks STD infected dicks every second.
However, one criticism of yours that I disagree with is "They used Spock's line."
Who cares? It doesn't detract from the original movie where Spock said it, that movie remains the same.
Also, the fact is Leonard Nimoy himself said the line, if he is cool with it, then why shouldn't we be?
Of all the AIDS infested shit fuck broken glass in its veins sucking-wino-dicks maggot-ridden filth that is Transformers 3, complaining about that line makes no sense.
in my opinion
Reply to this
Well, he was also cool with being in the movie, so I guess that means we should be ok with the movie then too, huh? Even though it sucks.
Reply to this
I see what you're saying, but I still disagree.
I will stick with what I like, but if someone wants to like a shitty film like this, why should I stop them?

And bottom 10 includes
G Force, Ant Bully, Astro Boy, Fire Birds, Bankok Dangerous, Gone in 60 Seconds
And honorable mention for great performance but hilariously bad movie (the Troll 2 of crimes films, I say!)

These are bad, but you cannot complain about these. Certainly when you are paying for them. It doesn't mather if you like it or not for the makers. they will be making more sequels prequels. But at least you are with friends.
And this vlog was really too long. Wouldn't it be better if you and jake would pick different ones for the list.

Transformers 3 actually caused me to stop being a fan of the Transformers franchise. Not just the movies, which I wrote off with part 2. The cartoons, the comics, the toys, all of it. Damn franchise hasn't had a good story since Beast Machines in 1999, and it took this movie to make me realize what a failed retread the whole enterprise has become.
As for Green Lantern: I'm not mad, just disappointed.
I was fortunate enough not to see any of the others.

I finally got around to watching "I saw the devil" but I couldnt find it dubbed so I watched the subbed version and man does that ruin the experience. It looks like it was actually made in 2010 - not 2011.
You had all the cops loosing it when they found the headless women's head but had hollywood made the movie the cops would have not reacted in such a manner (so I guess they are not as desensitized to violence over there which is really weird considering the rest of the movie).
Reply to this
Yeah, many movies made in 2010 were released in 2011. The movie had a South Korean screening in 2010, but was officially released in 2011. Which is why it's making not only mine, but several Top 10 lists of 2011.
Reply to this
So you prefer dubbing to subtitles? Interesting....
Reply to this
How can someone prefer the dub version when the film is not a kung fu film? Dubbed versions usually kill the experience because you're not getting the actual nuances of the actors voice.
Bah, I usually hate the comment pages on sites like this and TGWTG because people here don't know what they're talking about and are just fanboys.

I don't care for these movies, but one could still take all three and remake them into much better movies. Michael Bay, his producers and writers all suck.
Reply to this
Well, you boys got off easy. I have seen a lot of these films, including Transformers 3, but none of them, and I mean NONE of them, come even close to the worst film of the year (in my opinion):
The Eagle
Now, I HATE Transformers 3, and The Tree of Life, and Sucker Punch, as much as you guys. But the fucking eagle is even worse, in my opinion. I haven't seen a lot of the kids films, like Spy Kids and the Smurfs, so maybe I'm not in a positon to talk, but HOLY FUCK THE EAGLE IS FUCKING BAD. Like, it's not just the worst of the year for me, it's probably going to be the worst of the decade (2010s). I know we are only one day away from being 2 years into this decade, but I really think that the Eagle will remain unbeated for sheer shittiness for the next 8 years.

I think I know why Rodriguez makes those kid's films. Look at any highest grossing movies list and you'll immediately notice that it's all some combination of kid-appealing stuff, CG visuals, and name recognition. Sure, maybe something adult would be better, but maybe they won't let him, or he thinks it's too risky.

Great lists guys, though I haven't seen most of what you put down. The worst things I saw from your lists were "Sucker Punch", "Priest" and "Scre4m". "Scre4m" pissed me off but only because I like the first two (3 is also terrible though), "Priest" was so short and forgettable it left no impact on me other than dull confusion; and "Sucker Punch" was the very definition of all style, no substance. IMO anything that even approached legitimate symbolism was coincidental
Since it wasn't on your list, Brad, I'm guessing you haven't seen the absolute fucking waste of time "Hostel: Part III"?
Of the shit I saw this year "Battle: Los Angeles" and "Anonymous" were the absolute worst. Both being utterly boring and audience insulting. Battle: LA was one of the most cliché ridden movies I've seen in quite a while (I did see "Real Steel", but I agree with Doug on that one, I think they were in on the joke), and Anonymous just tried to confuse the audience by jumping around time frames so people wouldn't notice all the really stupid shit going on. Plus I could not give a FUCK what happened to any of the not even remotely likable characters in either film.

Such an amazing review/videos. After watching Transformers 2, I can't bring myself to watch the 3rd one, no matter how much one of my friends recommends it. It just looks so bad, like it took all the horrible parts from 2 and just amplified it.

Now, this is coming from a high school speech kid, but may I suggest reeling in the studdering? I realize emotions were flaring while recording, but it really is kind of jarring.
But what few I did see and analyze negatively seemed to find their way to your lists in about the same places as my own.
Hope your 2012 is prosperous and (dare I say it) care-free!

In that movie, I only laughed at the overly racist Mexican family (I'm Puerto Rican...so I found that to be funny)...it was also the only movie, that during the midnight showing, my wife, kids, and in laws 9 in total fell asleep on. Now that I'm done with my list...I have to gripe on something...I'm not trying to troll but for some reason I cannot stand Jake in these videos. Regarding Rodriguez vs. Scorsese doing kids' movies: it's worth remembering that Rodriguez wrote or co-wrote the screenplays for every single kids' movie he made, while Scorsese had nothing to do with the adapted screenplay for Hugo.
I'm willing to give Rodriguez one more chance to make a kids' movie provide he only directs/produces and has someone better to write for it. I realize that he has written or co-written almost every movie that he has ever directed, kids or no kids, so maybe this is too much to hope for.

I really hope this is supposed to be trolling, because nobody can be this shallow. Not everyone likes the same things, and the world is better for it. Get over it. Maybe you should learn the meaning of the term "opinion". I won't even mention the hypocrisy you show with your posts.
You know the difference between these guys and Spoony? They know that taste is personal and know how to have fun, without caring about what critics or fans think, and they'll mention that people are free to agree or disagree with them without making their audience feel like lesser beings. If you take anything they say as a personal insult, that's your own problem. I like Spoony, but its funny you defend him when he actually straight up tells people that their tastes are terrible when they don't agree with him.

My Pick for the very worst film in 2011 and perhaps the decade is the smurfs, a complete and absolute disgrace to not only the comic strip, but also the great cartoon from the 80's it makes transformers: dark side of the moon look good (which was not a good film either), raja gosnell is even worse than michael bay, The CGI is terrible, they look like playdo dolls the performance are from awful to wasted, tasteless jokes, terrible screenplay, horrible writing, The Late Peyo and Hanna-Barbera are rolling in their graves, they would not like this, this is a shameful, truly shameful film.
