Tim Burton didn't actually direct Nightmare before Christmas. It was Henry Selick.

It looks like a fun movie. Also Jake love the Dragonball Z shirt. That surprised the hell out of me. I never would of taken Jake as a Dragonball Z fan. Awesome!

Glad to hear Frankenweenie is good. Secondly, I thought that guy thought Brian was El Topo at the con while we were there, it made the conversation a little surreal, funny as shit though.

I really like and want Jake's shirt!
I like a lot of Burton's movies. I like Nightmare Before Halloween mostly for the character designs and the music! You gotta admit the songs are catchy!
I do gotta agree that Burton must hate cats as ya'll keep forgetting to bring up the fact he had a baby Penguin from Batman Returns pull a cat threw the bars of a cage and eat it alive!!! That was traumatizing as a kid as I've had cats as pets since I could walk!
Jake be nice to cats have you seen how much damage those things can cause when they're pissed? Read The Cats of Ulthar!
I remember seeing the Frankenweenie short on Disney a lot on Disney channel as a kid, but I think I'd like this feature more than anything!

Yes, The Hobbit is suppose to be more lighthearted and comical than the Lord of the Rings as there isn't as many serious characters. You get like 12-13 comedic relief characters with the Dwarfs. I find the scene in the trailer between Bilbo and Golum to be funny!

The Croods is from the same creator/director as Lilo & Stitch and How To Train Your Dragon, so I have high hopes for that one.

He's already said that he won't watch Taken 2 in the theates because it was edited down to a PG-13. He wants to see the full movie with gore, action, cursing and whatever else they took out to get a lower rating.

I'm hoping to work up the courage to see "Sinister." It looks "jump out of your skin" scary! It's been a LOOOOOONG time since I've seen a horror film that could do that to me.
And yeah, somewhere along the way, I got the impression Jake & Sarah were seeing each other.

Funny, Brian and Sarah being brother and sister.. ha ha.. Though I can see where people might think Sarah and Jake are dating.. there was some chemistry between them on the video they saw together.. but I never assume anything! great review!

I too enjoyed this movie, so I won't elaborate here. What I will do is ask Brad this. It wasn't in the movie, but one of the songs in the soundtrack includes a Plain White T's cover of The Ramones' Pet Sematary (from the Stephen King movie of the same name).
I'll post the link, and you can let me know what you think. Don't be mad at me when I tell you that I like it better than the original because I do.

Listening to the guys explaining elements of this movies plot I was very much getting a "Pet Sematary" vibe from it.
Unfortunately, as much as I love the original, I don't share your appreciation for the cover version of the song. It's not bad I guess but to my cynical ears it just sounds like a cover by any post 2000's so-called indie band. Different strokes for different folks i guess.

Well of course it's good. How can you possible fuck up a remake of you own movie? I can think of a few directors who could, but sequels that retcon the original don;t really count as a remake.

I've never really been able to understand when people really hate a specific type of animal. Sure I can comprehend being scared of spiders and snakes and the like but it's always struck me as odd when people announce their blanket hatred for an entire species. I'm aware how ridiculous this sounds but it seems kind of bigoted to me. Personally I've always had cats as pets so I don't have the same affinity with dogs and I was actually attacked by a dog when I was a little kid but I certainly wouldn't say "I hate all dogs". They're just animals like any other, and most dogs are really nice little fellows. Man I sound like a hippie.

I'm glad you guys liked this movie. Personally, I loved it. But I am a huge Tim Burton fan, so yeah.
BTW, just thought I'd mention that Colossus was a hamster, not a cat. Tim Burton DOES pretty much hate cats, though. He's mentioned it in interviews. Sorry Lloyd. XD
